I disagree with Cohen.

He said that because of the dignity of the Office of The Presidency, there should be no perp walk, mug shot, etc. I also do not think that there will be a perp walk, unless he kicks up a fuss and doesn't surrender.

But, he should not be treated with any respect other than to accede to the wishes of the SS, because their role is awkward, at the moment. He should be treated like any other alleged criminal, like you or I would be treated. Whatever standard booking thing they do should be good enough. I'd let him be cuffed in front with a coat, then into a police car or other vehicle with tinted windows, and off he goes.

He doesn't deserve special handling. Put a vest on him if they're worried about that. But, for the man who in so many ways showed his disrespect for the office himself, he shouldn't get treated with any special respect. Sure, this is the first time, but look what he did to our country. If this man were to become President again, be wary for what he will proceed to do. He and his fascist buddies will end our way of life.

It doesn't seem right that he gets to dictate his terms of surrender. I think the SS should bring him in. If he won't come along peacefully, let them arrest him.

He told us to drink bleach and stick lights inside us, but when he got sick we gave him the finest medical care we could muster. He threatened Bragg with a ball bat. I just don't see any need to shield him from the optics. This day was coming. Get on with it.

the baseball bat maneuver virtually guaranteed that he’d be indicted. Whereas you can make a case that he would have been anyway, you can’t be 100% certain of that but threatening the man in charge in that fashion was shall we say, not too bright.

So much for respect for the office. I think it's too much to expect us to have warm fuzzies for this Orange Turd. No special handling.-

May he forever be followed by throngs of people shouting at him, "Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!" And, may he always have some large, threatening man constantly breathing down his neck the way he did Hillary during that one debate.

I remember that! SNL did a skit on it. He stood there humping the back of a chair; he came up behind her in a threatening way. He deserves that same treatment.

was to announce his run for the presidency..and because the calendar is closing in on primary season, and with some sort of unspoken common wisdom presumption that an indictment would be considered interfering with a national election and detrimental to the candidate, Trump assumed he was untouchable... while Trump's indictment is a first, so is bursting the "too close to the election" bullshit unwritten agreement..it's about damned time!...

Actually, I think he just got cocky. He’s been able to wriggle out of trouble, one way or another, all his life. But it could be his luck is finally running out. Could be. I’m not a betting woman anyway, but I guess part of my reluctance to put all my faith in that is that I don’t trust the dynamics or opportunism or anything else around him.

He thought he would be shielded. Now, he gets to scream it's election interference. He can shove it. He's nothing but a mob boss.

"agreement" is the DOJ. Not the state of NY. So maybe, just maybe this is playing out beautifully. Trump org has already been tired and found guilty, now it's time for NY#2. Next up, the state of Georgia, and sliding into home, the DOJ. Let us not forget that the courts ruled that Bill Clinton was NOT exempt DURING his presidency over the Gennifer Flowers case. He was deposed WHILE President.

Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. However, TFG has also created a security issue. Bragg should follow NY law and precedent. If others have avoided the perp walk, TFG should be afforded that opportunity as well. If he wants it, give it to him and let everyone know it was his choice.

assuming he's proven guilty. Alas, we must let justice run its course else we're no better than him.

America needs to grow up and stop our worship of politicians, millionaires, TV and movie personalities, mega-church preachers and a host of other self-centered ego maniacs. That would be a good way to begin our process of healing.
