I hope that Kerry will not be the next SOS

I admire him and think he would be an excellent SOS, but I am leary of taking people out of the Senate and putting them in the administration. We need as many votes as possible in the Senate and we can't expect that in a special election for Kerry's seat that a Democrat would automatically win it. Scott Brown's initial election proves that. I'm sure there are many outstanding people we could consider for SOS rather than an elected Democratic Senator. How about Former Vice President Al Gore for instance?

I was thinking that perhaps he could be the SOS.

3. I sincerely hope it's Bill Richardson

Even Stupid called him into service to negotiate with people from the N. Koreans to the Somalis. He's well known internationally as an honest broker. He's someone well versed in the use of diplomacy instead of warfare and will continue the present course in foreign affairs, which is a good one.

I just hope he wants the job. He was at the top of my list in 2008 and remains there today. Ms. Clinton did an admirable job and I know why she was appointed, but Richardson remains the more logical choice.

Unless Deval Patrick were to run.

But thats not likely. The problem is, Kerry may be ready to do something other than just be a Senator. He may want to be SOS

Remember what happened when the president gave Janet Napolitano a cabinet position? Opened the door for that dried-up old witch Jan Brewer to become Governor of Arizona. Ugh.

I totally agree. He is a powerful voice for our side in the Senate and can give the speeches that Teddy would have.

I don't want him out of the senate, giving Scott Brown a way to get back in.

Besides, Bill Richardson is at the top of my own short list. His international reputation as an honest negotiator is stellar.

I'm sorry but Scott Brown's reputation is sour after this election.

of incumbancy, before having to face Scott Brown.

Massachussetts DUer's: Any good Dems there? Joe Kennedy III was just elected to a House seat, so probably not him.

How about Barney Frank?

In a recent interview Frank said that at age 72 he should not commit to a six year term. Look for him to do TV commentary and enjoy life with his partner.

That's why the Scott Brown election happened when it did.

The law was originally written to avoid giving then Governor Romney the power to replace John Kerry should he have won the 2004 election.

Let's not harvest our position in the Congress to fill Cabinet positions. They may be very qualified but we need the votes to fight off the intransigent pukes.
