with his own money. Using company money or campaign contributions is what made it illegal.

Look at Elon Musk. I doubt he has any real personal interest in the crap he promotes.

Instead, I think he got to Stanford, discovered a whole world of naive techno-optimists he could exploit, and made a plan. He doesn't care about Mars or electric cars. All he really cares about is his money and his dick. The rest of us are suckers.

Trump is a very similar character. Whatever money goes into his largely hidden and secure personal accounts never comes out again for the benefit of society. He's a money hoarder. For thrills he gets other people to spend money on him and takes whatever cut he thinks he can get away with.

It's all a grift.

I think the world would be a much better place if we taxed the billionaire class out of existence.
