Stuff is meant to prepare the public that the actual details of the trial are going to be boring. Tax code, blablabla.

Just managing expectation.

And also to remind viewers that this type of case is brought a lot against others. This isn’t a unique indictment done in desperation to “get” Trump unfairly. She had to push back on Trump loyalists and rabid pundits trying to undermine Bragg’s case. I’m sure she has an audience of normal TRMS viewers but ALSO curious nonMSNBC onlookers less supportive of these charges. She likes to teach anyone willing to listen.
