Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat type of restrictions might the Judge put on Donald Trump?
Especially since he may be charged with a felony, according to most reports?
Will he prohibit him from traveling to other states, for rallies, for example?
Will he prohibit his incendiary comments on Truth Social?
Will he be warned about threatening the Judge and the Prosecutors, and polluting the jury pool?
Will he be held in contempt if he breaks the rules set by the Judge?
Will he be told that he will be presumed innocent until a jury rules otherwise, and that he will be treated the same as any other defendant?
Will he be released on his own recognizance?

(115,627 posts)I don't think he will obey the Judge. Then, the Judge will have to decide the appropriate punishment. Contempt of court or home restriction or something else?

I agree, Trump is not likely to shut up, or stop fomenting violence.
He believes the judge will not jail him if he violates a gag order or home detention.
He will have to be convinced of consequences by the judge.
We don't know yet if the judge is going to tip toe around Trump or do the right thing.

(115,627 posts)Trump will cross them or go right up to the edge. That is his nature. He will test the limits of every rule. You are correct. He will have to be convinced of consequences.

(82,344 posts)He will push it right over the line every time.
The judge is going to have to have nerves of steel and show courage.
And know how to set boundaries.

(82,344 posts)If Trump is going to threaten the judge, jury and prosecutor, they must be protected.
If Trump is going to threaten our democracy, threaten to cause riots, we deserve protection.
I guess we will find out if the judge will factor in the rights of the American people in his decisions.
Or if as usual Trump is the most important person in the world in the American judicial system.
No one else matters one iota.
