...and there is no going back.
Trump and his advisers were shocked to hear that he had been indicted. They have been in reaction mode ever since. They are angry and lashing out at everyone not on the Trump train.
They are vindictive and accusatory and defensive.
They believe the power of their propaganda and PR will outweigh all criminal charges. They will blame it all on Joe Biden and the Democrats and take no responsibility. They never declare their innocence, only their victimization.
Tuesday is coming quickly and Trump would have liked a few more days to organize a mob to defend him against the criminal charges, much like he did on January 6th, 2021.
By Tuesday evening, he will have been charged with several crimes and his world will never be the same.

(2,608 posts)They know Trump is guilty. So as the old attorney saying goes, . With no facts, they just pound the table.

(111,110 posts)They need to put more on his plate. Give him more to think about. Overwhelm his bullshit. I would like to see Jack Smith charge him with seditious conspiracy and obstruction of justice.

(16,763 posts)GA attempt to overturn the results. What an f'ing criminal. I wish Ms. Carroll well in her rape case too. He probably raped 100's so good for her persistence. May he be convicted in all of them.

(47,586 posts)Trump is being sued by injured Capitol police and Democratic lawmakers for inciting the insurrection on January 6th. It would be fitting if whenever he catches his breath, he is hit with another indictment. All roads in the man's life have been leading to this moment - when it rains, it pours.

(47,586 posts)with all of them, so I'm sure there are others that we've forgotten about. You know, I have a feeling indictments might just propagate more investigations and indictments. Kind of a snowball effect. This is a very litigious country, Americans love suing people.

(16,763 posts)And he loves chaos. Attack, delay, obfuscate, deflect, gaslight, and project. Always deny and attack. Roy Cohn and KKK Fred taught this one well.
History may show him to be one of the most fucked up powerful people of all time. Course there's lots of competition....unfortunately.

(47,586 posts)"Live by the lawsuit, die by the lawsuit", metaphorically speaking. The Trump family has used our legal system for decades to their benefit, it is only fitting that the same legal system will be the one to bring them down.
True, the world has seen many fucked up powerful people, but few are or were so in-your-face outrageous as Donald Trump. He never really pretended to be anything other than the dishonest slob that he is and apparently that appeals to some people. We live in world where everyone is exposed to the same movies and television, so where did the MAGA crowd see the heroes that reminded them of someone like Trump?

(16,763 posts)Bush who used a rented hotel suite in Dallas to avoid taxes and bragged about it. It's hard to say when being dishonest became cool. I had friends that bragged about not paying taxes in the 70's and thought that was pretty disgusting. Probably been there since "the Gilded Age" and the Roaring '20s.
I'm sure there were lots of others, but those are the ones that hit my radar. (full disclosure I loved the Simpsons). The others not so much... I guess it just wasn't advertised or made to be a cool thing until around then. Of course, Drumpf learned it, lived it, and perfected it. Now millions live by it.
And millions of us don't, because we're not dishonest.

(47,586 posts)I've known people who were proud of cheating on their taxes, but even they cheered for the good guys in the white hats - Indiana Jones, Superman, Atticus Finch, George Bailey (who doesn't love George Bailey?), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Robin Hood, Han Solo, Erin Brockovich, etc.
Who the hell are these creeps cheering for? Mr. Potter, Darth Vader, Gordon Gekko? When they watch World War II movies, do they root for the Nazis to win?

(19,114 posts)The indictments are going to be devastating and I bet surprising. All the pundits and politicians guessing about the indictments are engaging in theater. The reality is we have no idea what they say and theyre going to be shocking.
For all the media knows there were 34 crimes each associated with 34 different women he paid off.
David Pecker provided concrete proof IMO.

If nobody shows up to try to put the arraignment on trial in the streets it'll be a tell for Trump support in '24

(17,956 posts)They're in the DeSantis camp or just don't care all that much anymore. Add the distinct possibility of spending significant time in prison if things get out of hand, and I doubt there will be many if any wankers in Manhattan. Other than the usual wankers that is.

I say lucky because I think he'll be beaten even worse than last time. People like deSatan are more worrisome I believe.
