General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI hope 60 Minutes had stratospheric viewership for the Margie Three Toes Interview.
We watched the whole thing. She came off exactly as you might think she would. Leslie Stahl didn't argue, but she did push back. She didn't ask deep follow-ups, but she did challenge politely.
After it was over, Margie was probably the worse for having done the interview. The strongest part was when Stahl asked her about things she said and things she posted. And just like Motherfucker, she blamed staff and media liars for each of her past statements and posts on which she was challenged.
I thought Stahl did an excellent job allowing Margie to show everyone who she is.
By the way, one little nugget about Marge reported after the interview. Her national approval rating in 28%. I don't recall her GOOP rating, but it, too, was remarkably low.
This interview hardly "normalized" her.

(29,078 posts)and don't "push back" at every single little thing they're in love with the guest and "normalizing" them or whatever. Suddenly everyone's an expert at interviewing on TV.
And the seventies called, 60 Minutes isn't must-watch TV for Americans. If she'd been on Bill Maher's show people would lose their fucking minds. Ridiculous.

(13,480 posts)Stahl did push back somewhat, but just her a program slot legitimized her as someone tly important when she needs to be ignored because she sucks up to Trump and see her support for him as her gravy train to fame, fortune, and political power. Heady stuff for a person who sees herself as the first female president of the US.

(12,412 posts)letting Margorie Crazy Greene talk -- uninterrupted -- would convince most people, including some Republicans, she's a loser like trump. Problem is, some of them don't care.
I still believe that most of these creeps don't gain votes by being all over TV. People need to see/hear them.

Honesty, integrity, leadership, governance, empathy, rule of law, honor, commitment to positive ideals. All have nothing to do with being a Republican in Washington or damn near in every red state.
Lesley Stahl, too damn polite by design. A journalist can be aggressive without being fox stupid.

(912 posts)where Cuomo landed, just did a similar interview with the Bobster earlier this week. Haven't seen any feedback on how that went. Likely as nutso as one would expect. I certainly didn't watch it.
(I've seen the new network's ads and gah, really? Do we really need yet another trash pseudo "news" channel?)

Fuck that bitch all to hell.
That 60 minutes would even ALLOW THIS INTERVIEW TO HAPPEN brings serious question to their credibility as a journalistic enterprise.

(2,499 posts)I thought Leslie Stahl asked good questions, but I expected more follow up to the ridiculous answers. There was a fair amount of wincing and other expressions of disbelief, but there was not a lot of push back from Stahl. Im guessing she was told to hold back by the producers or management.

(17,377 posts)true to her colors without question. Stahl also closed out the entire 60 Minutes in great fashion. The shallow minded wont be put off, but we already knew that.
