(103,407 posts)Trash talk that place on a regular basis but that's because I'm from Beantown. A regional rivalry only locals truly get.
There is a lot to love about New York, this is one of them.

(103,407 posts)So far, best news of the day!
I have to go to an appointment but I should be back in time to catch all the hoopla.

(3,895 posts)maybe outside Trump Tower last night, but this could be effective and peaceful. And Marge will be down there at street level. Great idea.

(983 posts)IIRC, they were considered to be one of the most annoying noisemakers to ever come out of World Cup Soccer.
She deserves an appropriate response to her blather.

(3,895 posts)Right now I just saw him enter the Courthouse. I got upset thinking of all the harm he's caused, the huge number of deaths from Covid due in part to his inaction and lies.

(16,162 posts)Of the folks of NYC dancing in the street when Joe Biden's win was announced in 2020!
I love New York!

(2,648 posts)has a glimmer of an idea what the Capitol Hill police experienced on January 6th. Of course, compared to that hellish day, this is NOTHING.
ShazzieB
(22,732 posts)But no one was spraying her with bear spray, tasing her or beating her with flag poles and stolen police shields, so maybe not.

(2,648 posts)the "both sides do it" card.
But you're right, she is totally lacking in empathy for others and probably did not see any connection between herself getting swarmed and Jan. 6. If she did have a moment of self-reflection, I'm sure she would say her treatment today was worse than Jan. 6!
ShazzieB
(22,732 posts)I was just pointing out the differences between J6 and her experience today.

(3,115 posts)understand the desire of some to silence others in this country. I find it to be short sighted, and counterproductive.
Standing by and allowing these type of people to say what they say does far more damage to them. Trying to silence or shout them down makes us look petty, and it makes them appear vindicated.
ShazzieB
(22,732 posts)She had absolutely no business being there.
This case is a New York matter, and the people of New York had every right to run this interloper out of their city. She is welcome to go spew her toxic garbage somewhere else.

(4,372 posts)Business here referring to fundraising and otherwise exploiting the hard-of-thinking to advance her career. From what Ive seen so far, shes failed to capture the attention she sought through this venture.
But wait! Lets see how Faux Gnus shovels her story this evening.

(15,909 posts)This was purely about a show of support for Trump via physical presence. A loud, noisy show of a decided lack of support for Trump, and MTG herself, is the perfect counter message.
ForgedCrank
(3,115 posts)exactly what I'm talking about. Someone asserts their position is the only one that is true and just, then proceeds to squash the rights of someone else. Not cool. Not cool at all.
It's all fun and games until suddenly the rule makers change and we realize that they are the opposition. Then it's not so cute or funny anymore.

(22,732 posts)I wonder what does thought was going to happen today. Did she really not know that TRUMP is deeply hated in New York? Did she actually think thousands of Trump trolls were going to show up to protect the indictment and fawn on her every word? Questions, I have so many!
