we have another year or so listening to his horseshit as the world moves on.

(5,058 posts)until the day he goes six feet under. Unlike previous presidents, they goes kind of dark after their terms, not TFG. He likes the spotlight too much to give it up and the media is more than happy to go along.

(10,982 posts)for POTUS in '24 and you can bet we will be listening to this crazy blabber until then.
It amazes me that anyone finds this clown a decent person. And to top it off white evangelicals love him.
Tells me a lot about white evangelicals.

(5,058 posts)I've been on a media backout since 2021 (It really helps with my sanity). I only come on here when there is major news and I can count on one hand the times I watch MSNBC in these 2 years. I long for the days when our politics doesn't talk about TFG but we are still years away from that.

(22,310 posts)Watch TFG very carefully. Then if he continues his online threats, the judge should announce the trial WILL be moved up! (in order to shut TFG'S mouth)

(9,148 posts)but now I kinda hope he stays alive long enough to destroy Tiny D. So I guess his unhinged yammering is the price we pay for that.

(130,842 posts)the Manhattan criminal courts are infamously slow because they are so overloaded. Actually, I kind of like it that he'll have the case (and the other cases) hanging over his head for months to come. He'll keep whining but his shtick will get old; after awhile nobody will want to listen to his rants about how unfair it all is. Ultimately people want to hear what a presidential candidate will do for them and for the country - what will the candidate do about fiscal and social issues that affect them, not how badly the candidate is being treated by the Deep State. Even the MAGAts will get tired of the old routine. In the meantime TFG will have to put up with court appearances, lawyers, and the looming possibility that he could be convicted of something. I'm fine with it all taking awhile, it will wear him out.

(23,463 posts)There are establishment Republicans chomping at the bit to cut him loose, but of course, they lack the courage and cover to do so now.
After months of indictments, court hearings, and new shocking revelations, I expect we will see some folks (Romney, McConnell, Collins, Hogan, Christie) come out and say that, sadly, Trump just has too much baggage, and the once great president is now clearly unelectable.
I expect this chatter will start shortly before the GOP debates begin in August, and ramp up through the fall in the lead up to the first primaries.

(8,179 posts)My math has it at 8 years and I'm still counting.
That's almost a decade of pure, unadulterated insanity that we've had to cope with.
Couldn't have been a better planned or better designed psychological warfare operation by an enemy for the sole purpose of destabilizing our society, our country.
Not saying it was a conspiracy, though there is some evidence suggesting that's exactly what happened vis a vis Putin and probably China. I think our media has been a player, albeit unwittingly.probably.
I think the poisonous soup is cooked in a cauldron filled with ignorant elements, along with racism, supported by corrupt "Christian" cult figures, dark money etc.
I feel like most of those years were stolen from me, until I finally gave up expecting justice, expecting significant correction, restorative healing. I have to say though, under Biden's Administration I/we have been breathing easier. So much less stressful.
But that tfg is still free to instigate mayhem, unrest, violence and chaos, is evidence we are far from being made whole again
I am resolved to continue "checking in" but on a very limited scale, and focus on my music, my grandchildren and other creative endeavors for the rest of my remaining years on this planet. I don't want him to steal another moment of my center of gravity ever again.
It's going to be much longer than a year from now, i think. I hope I'm wrong.

(10,379 posts)Let his ass twist in the wind with 34 indictments over his head and more from other jurisdictions sure to come. This is one area where "delay, delay, delay" actually hurts him.
And we'll be hearing from this bastard until the day he dies. When he is put on trial won't affect that.
