"SNIP......
Twitter added a warning to NPRs Twitter account on Tuesday, declaring it as state-affiliated media, a label thats typically been reserved for foreign media outlets that represent the official views of the government, like Russias RT and Chinas Xinhua, Forbes reports.

(14,990 posts)NPR is a membership organization comprised of non-profit/educational stations, and those members elect the Board of Directors. Federal funding for NPR was (apparently permanently) slashed in the '80s and currently is about 10% of their budget -- they were forced to evolve their revenue sources to survive and obviously did so many years ago.

(101,358 posts)and has sacked too many people to troll correctly with a platform. The Forbes source for the OP says the Twitter online help used to list NPR and the BBC as "state-financed", not "state-affiliated" (because of editorial independence), but that has been altered. That's true here:
https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/state-affiliated
but the fucker running the platform into the ground has forgotten to change it elsewhere, eg here:
