These GOP assholes are completely detached from reality!
This is nutz!

Of course he looked a bit constipated so it did have some effect.

(15,438 posts)I don't watch these stupid GOP debates, either. They haven't come up with anything new other than vague promises of more jobs - much like the GOP did last November 2010 and fooled people into voting for them only to discover the GOP set policies into motion to kill jobs.
They're hoping they can copy the same campaign strategy.

BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)that Congress is innocent and the president is a monarch. This absolves the do-nothing Republican do-nothing congress of all sin - except, outside their mindless voters, everyone else knows why strong progress has been knee-capped: Republicans and Teapublicans in the House, and obstructionist, filibuster Republicans in the Senate.
Yes, I know, a lot of superlatives, but they're all deserved.

(30,151 posts)And why would you find that offensive?
Were you REALLY offended?
Did your body language show a defensive position?
Did you get a cold chill?
Did reading the OP make you feel uncomfortable?
hootinholler
(26,451 posts)I found it offensive because it is directed at Obama Haters. It implies that there is a significant number of them here who thrive.
I could care less about the OP, but having been called an Obama Hater here, yes, I am offended by the notion that there are actual Obama Haters who are not dealt with and allowed to flourish here, which is patently false.
snooper2
(30,151 posts)But you have been called a hater, and want all haters purged?
LOL
I guess being an Obama "hater" is subjective
hootinholler
(26,451 posts)To the point of being capricious. Actual haters are banned all the time by both the admins and the MIRT. Some of them who are a little sly even get to over 100 posts on occaision. These folk do not belong here. They are removed every day.
How is this hard to grasp?
Those who offer criticism based in fact are the life's blood of DU. I'm sorry that there seems to be a significant group of people here who are having trouble grasping that. But then again, I have these silly notions of honest forthright debate of actual issues.
I'm saying that actual Obama Haters do not last long on DU. True there seems to be the odd latent account that suddenly goes hot, but I really don't see DU overwhelmed by Obama Hatred the way some make it sound.
I work hard to be fair and when I am labeled a Hater it gets my attention.

(26,451 posts)I'm tired of the label being applied to those who dare criticize.
I'm tired of seeing hidden posts labeled as Obama hate, when it is merely critical of that which should be criticized.
I'm further tired of the authoritarian tactics used to apply these labels.
But mostly I'm tired of having a President who seemingly refuses to fight for traditional Democratic principles.
TheWraith
(24,331 posts)People have opinions other than yours! You're not allowed to make up smears out of thin air and have them treated as fact!
The "criticism" here has no basis in reality, which is why it gets taken to task. It's the same irrational, knee-jerk complaintism that's come with every single Democratic President of the last 80+ years, and been solidly and completely wrong all the time.
hootinholler
(26,451 posts)You are not addressing the validity of the information on which criticism is based, but simple issuing a dismissal by label.
If you think there is no basis in reality for the criticism here, why are you not pointing out that lack rather than applying a label. That approach is rather authoritarian and I find it unthinking and offensive.

(716 posts)...and where's the bumper sticker with the REPtilian symbol and "Keeping Millions out of work so that one man will lose his job"? The focus on that, and thus keeping the crooked gravy-train rolling, sidelines dealing with real problems.
It's devastating to my water-cooler debate opponents. The REP clown-car is embarrassing.
But meanwhile, Wall St. crimes and war crimes go unaddressed, public airwaves and media are largely hijacked by monied interests that also fund the campaigns, and fretting about THAT is seen as disloyal.

(4,876 posts)You're really helping the Democrats with your suave way of drawing people into to voting along party lines. Perhaps you should become a campaign slogan writer...
