Terrifying Investigative Journalism

This article terrifies me.

Inside a US Neo-Nazi Homeschool Network With Thousands of Members
An Ohio couple has been unmasked as leaders of the neo-Nazi “Dissident Homeschool” Telegram channel that distributes lesson plans to 2,400 members.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/z34ane/neo-nazi-homeschool-ohio

I’m old and was adopted by a German mom whose parents families both immigrated to the US before WWI and loathed what Germany became.

I heard tales of families they grew up with surviving on stinging nettles soup (the ones that survived) because of the nihilistic disaster created by the Nazis.

That said.

This article is a must read. 1000s of American children are being ideologically Nazi brain washed.

According to the article referenced above:

The Ohio Nazi curriculum home school exposed in the article is hooking up internationally.

Perhaps it’s roots are, in fact, imported. We know some high profile, indicted, pod casting nihilistic US citizens went abroad to promote Nazi groups.

Of note, the young female Nazi Home School founder is from the Netherlands. She went to Germany and met and then married an American she met at an Octoberfest.

She then became a US citizen in 2017.

Four years later in 2021, frustrated by a lack of Nazi themed home school materials, she launched “Dissident Home school.

The Nazi home school program now has a national enrollment of potentially 1000s of young kids being groomed with white nationalist, all-things-Nazi indoctrination. (Of note, just ahead of GOP led states pushing and some passing school vouchers)

Are we really going to allow Nazi home schooling to receive school funds?

Is there any a state vetting planned to disallow dangerous anti-democratic indoctrination?

Zealots are dangerous. Children are being groomed to become gun-toting, hate-fueled zealots.

Hate-fueled, brain washed zealots can be coerced to commit mass shootings or worse.

How is this indoctrination different from the Talibans young zealots who become human bombs?

Do good people need to infiltrate and expose or will we rely on the government?

We ignore this at our own peril.

The Spanish Civil War is as important to understand as Nazi Germany.

How many blatant nihilistic hints do good people need, to be prompted to take risks, protest, and expose the fascists among us?

In the article.

And yes, their kids are brought to and exposed to adult white nationalist gatherings.

Camps sound about right. The exhausted parents need a break to catch up with their Nazi friends and plan next year’s curriculum & share Fuhrer cake recipes to celebrate Hitler’s birthday.

Hope people wake up and expose those among us.

https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/11/how-american-nazis-used-summer-camps-to-indoctrinate-their-own-children/

During the latter half of the 1930s, a surprising number of Nazi-themed summer camps sprouted across the United States. Organised locally and without the support of Germany, these summer outings bore a startling resemblance to the Hitler Youth. Here’s what these camps were like — and how, for a short time, the Third Reich came to America.

Parents lining up to give the Hitler salute. Children wearing uniforms adorned with swastikas. The stars and stripes raised alongside the Nazi flag. Looking back with hindsight, these images of summer camps appear ludicrous and deeply offensive. Yet, in the late 1930s, a small minority of Americans were subsumed by the same fascist fervour that had swept Nazi Germany.

While these retreats had obvious appeal to Nazi sympathizers, they were also part of a larger plan to awaken fascistic sensibilities in America and to foster the transition of the US into a Nazi stronghold.
Welcome to Nazi Camp, USA

These summer camps, organised by a grassroots organisation called the Deutsche-Amerikanische Berufsgemeinschaft, or German American Bund (“bund” meaning “alliance” in German), were established in the US during the latter half of the 1930s.

https://hsp.org/blogs/fondly-pennsylvania/nazi-party-sympathizers-in-philadelphia-before-the-war-part-2

In the late 1930s and early 1940s all of Philadelphia was keenly interested in those inhabitants who were in sympathy with the Nazi regime. Local associations were looked at closely. News clippings, some of which are shown below, give the researcher a glimpse into how the citizens of Philadelphia reacted to what was a significant movement. A large collection of the news clippings at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania come from the Philadelphia Record, although there are also articles from the Philadelphia Bulletin and Daily News.

The German Society of Pennsylvania had a significant presence among American born and immigrant Germans. Founded in Philadelphia in 1764, it is the oldest and most prominent organization of its kind in the country today. In the 1940s, the society was located at Marshall and Spring Garden Streets. HSP has several documents that give the researcher an understanding of that organization during the 1930s and 1940s. A pamphlet produced by the German Society in February 1941 touts the society’s good works and emphasizes its patriotism toward the United States. The first page of this four page item declares, “Our America – So May It Ever Be,” and lists, “Some of the most prominent members of the German Society of Pennsylvania who have faithfully served their beloved City, State and the United States.”

https://hsp.org/blogs/fondly-pennsylvania/nazi-party-sympathizers-in-philadelphia-before-the-war-part-1

A slice of Philadelphia history may surprise those of us who live in and love our city. In the late 1930s and the early 1940s, Nazi party affiliates were active in several venues in and around the city. The German-American Bund, in particular, represented those whose sympathies lay with Hitler and Hitler’s Nazi movement. Formed in 1933, the Bund’s membership consisted of American citizens of German descent. Its main goal was to promote a favorable view of Nazi Germany, although documents below show that their mission went beyond propagandizing to enlisting young sympathizers and even preparing for armed conflict. The Historical Society of Pennsylvania archives has photos and documents that trace the appearance and demise of this National Socialist movement throughout the Philadelphia region.

The Philadelphia Record Photograph Morgue (Collection V07) that resides at HSP presents a record of how journalists investigated and covered American Nazi activity from before the Second World War to the American Bund’s demise in the early 1940s. Among the photos are images showing items seized in raids by the FBI in homes purported to be local Nazi headquarters.

An August 8, 1942 report showing another photo is entitled Symptoms of Fifth Column in Chester. The author writes, “The contraband above, including rifles, revolvers, ammunition, cameras, radios and pictures of Hitler, was seized yesterday by FBI agents in extensive raids on the homes of enemy aliens in Chester and Marcus Hook.” The radios seen in the photos were no doubt used to be in contact with the Transocean News Service which the Commission declared had over 70,000 people on its mailing list. The news service was a wireless German news agency headquartered in Berlin designed by the German Foreign Office and operated by the Propaganda Ministry.

A commission report dated January 3, 1941 outlined what the committee perceived as National Socialism’s plans for the United States: “Both Stalin and Hitler have made it plain that their strategy in achieving their objectives in the United States includes the use of Trojan Horses or ‘fifth columns.’ ” The report quotes a statement Hitler made in 1934, “[Nazism] is destined to liberate the American people from their ruling clique and give them back the means of becoming a great nation. … I shall undertake this task simultaneously with the restoration of Germany to her leading position.” The report claims that German-American Bunds had 100,000 members. (This figure is widely believed to be exaggerated. Historians have put membership as low as 25,000. However, mailing lists for newspapers and other propaganda are believed to have been closer to the 100,000 figure.)

Philadelphia figures prominently in the report when discussing the Kyffhauserbund. The Kyffauserbund was a national veterans’ organization in Germany. According to the commission report, a branch affiliated with the German organization was formed in the summer of 1937 in Philadelphia. It appears that its primary function was to promote rifle and pistol practice. From Philadelphia, the Bund spread to New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Michigan, and Texas. A leader of the Texas Kyffhauserbund is quoted in the 1941 Commission Report: “We did not need to unlearn anything when Hitler came to power. We were already Nazis when he took the reins of the Reich.”

https://historycollection.com/heres-what-to-know-about-lebensborn-the-nazi-human-selective-breeding-and-child-abduction-program/5/

A deeper look into this eugenic selective birth program might provide insight in the push for anti-abortion.

The Nazis only banned abortion for “ethnically pure” women.

All others could abort.

Disabled births were euthanasia…. Well murdered by SS according to the article.

Nazi means so many hard to even contemplate evils.

our nation of peoples from around the planet, and had little interest in taking us over any time soon, though keeping our giant industrial base from being turned against him was of great interest.

It was a big shock to Americans when investigative journalists revealed the scope, including among people of influence, of the American Nazi movements -- definitely including the training of children in very un-American fascist ideals.

These days it should help us to remember the rest of that story -- that widespread public awakening and triggering of government action was the beginning of the end for that threat (entering the war delivered the coup de grace). Of course, while they'd been able to grow mostly unobserved and unopposed, the American Nazis had very helpfully -- and inevitably given what they were -- provided the government plenty of illegal activities and national security threats to move against. Just what Hitler feared could happen.

And just what the Republican leaders fear most: Widespread public awakening.

17. Social Security's (and other parts of the New Deal) racist origins
Fri Apr 7, 2023, 11:31 PM
Apr 2023
https://naacp.org/articles/viewing-social-security-through-civil-rights-lens

Today, our nation marks the 85th anniversary of one of the most consequential social programs ever enacted — the Social Security Act of 1935. Considered a signature part of New Deal reform, Social Security sought to provide a measure of income security for older persons and some other vulnerable populations. It also paved the way for future federal protections such as Medicare and the Affordable Care Act. When Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the bill, he recognized its impact and its promise, calling it "a cornerstone in a structure which is being built but is by no means complete."

But like other components of the New Deal, the origins of Social Security were rooted in racism. The Act initially omitted large categories of workers of color from retirement benefits and unemployment insurance. When Congress held hearings on the bill in 1935, the NAACP testified that a provision insisted upon by Southern politicians to exempt agricultural and domestic workers would disproportionately exclude Black workers. It was none other than Charles Hamilton Houston, architect of the legal challenge to the "separate but equal" doctrine resulting in Brown v. Board of Education, who objected on behalf of the NAACP and warned Congress that the bill would exclude "Negro sharecroppers and Negro cash tenants, who are just about at the bottom of the economic scale."

Despite the NAACP's opposition, the Social Security Act passed with these exemptions intact. As a result, 65 percent of African Americans throughout the country were ineligible for benefits, with an even higher percentage of African Americans in the South excluded from the program. The NAACP's Charles Hamilton Houston described the law as a "sieve with the holes just big enough for the majority of Negroes to fall through." The exemptions were finally repealed in the 1950s, but they had significantly worsened the economic gap between Blacks and Whites.

The Racist Housing Policy That Made Your Neighborhood

https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/05/the-racist-housing-policy-that-made-your-neighborhood/371439/

snip

One of the most heinous of these policies was introduced by the creation of the Federal Housing Administration in 1934, and lasted until 1968. Otherwise celebrated for making homeownership accessible to white people by guaranteeing their loans, the FHA explicitly refused to back loans to black people or even other people who lived near black people. As TNC puts it, “Redlining destroyed the possibility of investment wherever black people lived.”

To understand the depth of the racism of these regulations, you have to read the descriptions of the grades that FHA gave to neighborhoods from A (green) to D (red). I’ve included them all at the end of this post, but here is the “C” classification (emphasis added), which is where my Oakland neighborhood fell (keep in mind restrictions as used here, means clauses, written into the title, not to sell to nonwhites).

Yellow areas are characterized by age, obsolescence, and change of style; expiring restrictions or lack of them; infiltration of a lower grade population; the presence of influences which increase sales resistance such as inadequate transportation, insufficient utilities, perhaps heavy tax burdens, poor maintenance of homes, etc. “Jerry” built areas are included, as well as neighborhoods lacking homogeneity. Generally, these areas have reached the transition period. Good mortgage lenders are more conservative in the Yellow areas and hold loan commitments under the lending ratio for the Green and Blue areas.

And, of course, the mortgage industry as a whole—the expansion of which allowed people without large savings or family money to buy homes—adopted many of these same practices. This had all sorts of truly horrific consequences for black people, black families, and black neighborhoods.

unleashed the ugliness of Americans that has ALWAYS been just under the surface. Nixon was a reaction to Civil and Voting Rights for all Americans. Reagan was another grander tilt toward fascism. Bush's 1 and 2 speak for themselves, especially with Cheney in the background advising and creating new avenues for fascism to spread in our form of government. President Obama was a welcome relief from the ugliness of RW Americans' hateful vomit and fear of change from white male domination of the presidency.

Yet underneath the 8 years of President Obama as leader of our country in all things sane, the white resentment bubbled more furiously in the RW of Americans. To the dangerous point of running over into a mess that threatened fire. Well, trump provided the higher flame that allowed white resentment of Equal Rights and Voting Rights for all and an African-american POTUS to boil over to start that fire.

We now are here at your post's warnings and observations. I can only hope WE can turn back the tide. Wisconsin helped me this week. Gov. Whitmer is another bright shining light into the darkness I see as the possible future in which America turns into Nazism 2. Even Arizona.

Nazi homeschooling. I would never have believed I would see such in this country. But racists have never surprised me. In 1619 the parameters of white racist hate were created.

How else will the country at large be aware of all the fascist undercurrents we're looking at right now. Undercurrents that seek to pull down and drown the American Experiement.

Knowledge is power, our super-power if we're willing and able to digest it and understand the genuine danger at hand.

This is another disgusting example of those who scream FREEDOM but are so willing to give it all away. These are the politically-motivated groups who would ban books, rewrite curriculums in their image, and then poison the minds of children with hate and bigotry.

And yes, they need to be exposed 24/7.

across the US and the story of how the Jewish Mob helped take them down

If you have a Prime membership, you can borrow it for free.

Gangsters vs. Nazis: How Jewish Mobsters Battled Nazis in WW2 Era America
by Michael Benson

Lots of Back story on the American Bund and how the actions of one NYC judge sent the Jewish Mob to run them out of town

In the late 1930’s Nazism was on the rise, even in America. There were two very active Nazi groups, the German American Bund and the Silver Legion who spewed out Hitler’s hateful rhetoric. Alarmed by the growing Nazi menace New York Judge and former congressman Nathan Perlman calls the gangster Meyer Lansky to ask for help. As evil as the Mob was, sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways.

This is where Michael Benson’s story begins.

What Perlman asks of his literal murderers’ row of gangsters is to directly take on the Nazis and break up their rallies. These would include the aforementioned Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Siegel, Leo “Lepke” Buchhalter, Longy Zwillman, Moe Dalitz, and Mickey Cohen. He was indifferent to the fact that most of their rallies were lawful. Nevertheless in New York, Newark, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cleveland, and Los Angeles the mob breaks up Nazi rallies with brass knuckles, baseball bats, pipes, stink bombs, and sawed-off pool cues. Also in the mix was the famed Jewish boxer, Barney Ross. Although quite illegal and certainly offensive to civil liberties sensitivities, it showed the world that Jews were no longer the cowering masses of the shtetl, but they actually could fight. This would be proven out in the resistance to the Nazis in occupied Europe and the in the nascent Jewish army in Palestine.

This is a great read, packed with historical detail. Highly recommend. (I hope someone makes a documentary or mini-series of it)
