OhNo-Really
(3,996 posts)He appears to be a sadly conflicted man. I cant imagine the trauma of having lost Uncle John, Father Robert, and cousin John Jr
That said, this is what his family members have said about RFK Jr
In 2019, three members of his family his sister Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, brother Joseph P. Kennedy II and niece Maeve Kennedy McKean forcefully denounced his anti-vaccine views in a Politico Magazine op-ed, arguing that he was part of a misinformation campaign thats having heartbreaking and deadly consequences.
In 2022, Kennedy Jr. invoked Nazi Germany in an anti-vaccine speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The previous year, Instagram took down his account for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines.

(27,558 posts)A viable Democratic candidate. Plus his voice is annoying.
Ocelot II
(131,239 posts)To the extent anybody votes for him it will be a few of the lunatic anti-vax fringe, which these days skews right - though there's a small left-wing crystals and homeopathy woo crowd that might buy what he's selling (including, apparently, Dennis Kucinich, who seems to have beamed down from whatever galaxy he's been hanging out in). He might be some minor competition for the other crackpot, Marianne Williamson. But I wouldn't worry about him.

Steve Bannon is behind this, and RFK Jr. is also associated with Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

From Vanity Fair: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s Presidential Bid Is Doomed to Fail. But Thats Not the Point
It is more than likely, then, that Kennedy is part of an oddball right-wing plot to pester Biden in what could otherwise be a mostly uncontested primary. ...

(58,785 posts)I really want us to officially acknowledge our respect and gratitude
for the vast range of Americans represented by those offering themselves to the electorate through the Democratic Party -- while culling the pack very early on to those who meet our serious, responsible and ideologically committed party standards for our presidential candidates.
Five was too few in 2016. Over two dozen in 2020, including some antithetical to the goals and ideals of over 80M voting liberal Democrats, was...appalling.

(2,356 posts)The 40 or so votes he gets won't make any difference. If Bannon is involved, it's a scam.
