Susan Collins' Dire Warning About Matthew Kacsmaryk Proven True

Senator Susan Collins issued a dire warning in 2019 about Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who on Friday temporarily halted the use of mifepristone, a pill used to terminate pregnancies.

-snip-

Specifically, Collins warned about Kacsmaryk's stance on reproductive rights in her explanation as to why she would buck her party and vote against his nomination.

"Mr. Kacsmaryk has dismissed proponents of reproductive choice as 'sexual revolutionaries,' and disdainfully criticized the legal foundations of Roe v. Wade," Collins said in a 2019 statement. "Such extreme statements reflect poorly on Mr. Kacsmaryk's temperament and suggest an inability to respect precedent and to apply the law fairly and impartially."

Kacsmaryk's ruling on the abortion pill, which was approved by the FDA in 2000, quickly sparked outrage and concern from reproductive rights advocates, who warned it will make it more difficult for women nationwide to obtain mifepristone.

Yet you're still part of the party that wants to ban abortion.

Now when does she stand up and say Kavenaugh lied? Or was it not a lie because she only pretended to believe it?

Susan Collins Shocked That Brett Kavanaugh Would Ever Lie to a Woman
By Andy Borowitz
May 3, 2022

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Senator Susan Collins, who had been assured by Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 that he considered Roe v. Wade “settled law,” said today that she was “shocked” that the Supreme Court Justice “would ever lie to a woman.”

“When I met with Justice Kavanaugh before his confirmation hearings, he looked me in the eye and said that he considered Roe v. Wade the law of the land,” she said. “Nothing in his confirmation hearings suggested that he would ever be less than trustworthy with a woman.”

“As I watched his Senate testimony, I felt even more confident that he had told me the truth,” she added. “His utter respect for a woman’s right to make decisions for herself came shining through.”

In the aftermath of the leaked Supreme Court draft ruling and reports that Kavanaugh voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, however, Collins is reassessing her ability to tell whether someone is lying to her. “My conduct in this matter has left me troubled and concerned,” she said.

well, I've got a couple for you:...

if you and your Trump enabling assholes had voted to impeach Trump the first time then this is what would NOT have happened: no Big Lie, no coup, no inciting an insurrection, no attack on the Capital, no dead officers, no hang Mike Pence...

if you had gone with your concerned gut and voted NOT to confirm Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, Roe v Wade would have stood...women would NOT die at the end of a coat hanger, raped young girls (children) would NOT have to carry their attacker's baby to term, women in the excruciating throes of a miscarriage would have the medical care they need and NOT have to deal with a possible arrest..

if your former majority leader, Mitch McConnell had NOT nominated Kacsmaryk and the hundreds of unqualified radical Federalist Society approved nobodies, women would still have the right to choose and the abortion pill would still be an option...

Susie, this is on you!!!

His nomination failed at first. The 2018 election comes, and Republicans gain 2 additional seats and then they confirm him.
