The Republican megadonor whose gifts to the supreme court justice Clarence Thomas have come under the spotlight has a private collection including a garden of statues of dictators, including Mussolini and Stalin; Nazi memorabilia; and paintings including two works by Adolf Hitler, the Washingtonian reported.
I still cant get over the collection of Nazi memorabilia, the Washingtonian quoted an anonymous source as saying, regarding a visit to Harlan Crows Texas home. It would have been helpful to have someone explain the significance of all the items. Without that context, you sort of just gasp when you walk into the room.

(28,366 posts)I went over to his house, one time, and his father showed me his collection of Nazi memorabilia, including a Luger pistol, fully functional, and medals, and a bunch of other stuff he bought and may have taken from the corpses of dead soldiers when he was in the war. The one sentence that was emblazoned in my brain was when he said You have to admit their uniforms were really sharp.
A short time later, I read that nearly-exact sentence in a National Lampoon parody, and realized that this was a catchphrase of these assholes. I asked my father, who was a veteran of the Pacific theater What he thought of all this, and he just shook his head and waved his hand in dismissal. One word escaped from his lips: Assholes.

(13,247 posts)In addition to extinguishing freedoms, fascist dictators steal resources and others property. This is as much about greed and avarice, as anything else. Crow wants it all for himself, and hes bought a Supreme Court justice, along with his wife, to do it.
