Last week 23 members said they'd vote to return the representative his constituents elected to the state legislature. This week all 36 who voted did just that.

VERY good job, Council members! From GA, our respects.

also acted by fiat to decrease the size of the Nashville Metro Council by half! In another bit of good news, today a 3 judge panel issued an junction banning the action.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wkrn.com/news/local-news/nashville/metro-wins-injunction-of-council-reduction-act-from-3-judge-panel/amp/

"A three-judge panel granted a stay of the “Metro Council Reduction Act,” preventing Metro Council from having to immediately pass new maps in order to have a reduced council size prior to the August elections this year.

Chancellors Jerry S. Bryant and Patricia Head Moskal and Judge Mary L. Wagner issued the ruling Monday afternoon, stating Metro Nashville was “likely to succeed on the merits” of their case against the state’s enacting of the law, which requires the Council to reduce its members by at least half.

The law was signed by Gov. Bill Lee within an hour of its passage on March 9, starting the clock on a 30-day window for the Metro Planning Department to create brand new district maps for Metro Nashville-Davidson County. With the ruling, the panel agreed with Metro’s position that it would be better to maintain the status quo while the legal challenge worked its way through the court system."....(more)

As others have said, Trump didn't create racism, but he allowed it to be expressed freely. These a-holes will remain racist, but they'll have to crawl back under their rocks with that s**t. In the meantime, they've given the spotlight to two promising politicians.

the state legislature has made a mockery of their own chamber. The locals thankfully just put the exclamation point on the foolishness.

So.. whats next? I assume not a quiet return, nor genial acceptance by the republicans.

Im also curious how this wierd show will effect the next elections there.
