So, Lauren Boeberts son is driving recklessly, high as a kite
He severely injures his friend, causing a permanent disability in the friends hand
Drug paraphernalia in the car.
The friend who was injured gets the drug charges
Boeberts kid magically gets careless driving causing bodily injury reduced to non-functioning headlights.
But tell me about the Deep State again?

It's only a matter of time
"Obviously, I'm a Christian, and there are standards that we like to uphold, but none of us do it perfectly," Lauren proclaimed during a March 30 interview on The Rubin Report. "We can nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong, but I think just having that heart posture of wanting to serve God, it's so important."

(4,741 posts)It's weird how none of the people claiming to be christian can agree on what one is. Why don't you all get together, and reach a definitive definition of what constitutes a "real" one versus a "fake" one, so everyone can be on the same page about it?
Until you get that ironed out, then anyone who claims to be a christian is one. I mean, who else would claim such a thing except people who belong to that religion? Why say you're one if you're not? Are you trying to imply that people of other religions are so evil and dishonest that they'll lie about what they are to make christians look bad?
Is that where you want to go?

(51,308 posts)Religions are not supposed to be bashed, but Christianity is the one exception here. If you don't believe me, try posting any of these comments in this thread about someone from a different religion and then get back to me.
On the other hand, when someone asks for help, DU pops right up telling the person to try local churches!
And oddly I never heard ONE SINGLE PERSON here specifically denigrate the beliefs of the Carters, the Obamas, or the Bidens. Funny that.
I'm not in the least religious, but this annoys me no end. There are good people who have faith. I admire and almost envy them.
Anyway, welcome to DU!

One of ours had a bad accident a few years ago, if I remember correctly. Young woman died, but money talks.
Yes, you're spot on.

(18,714 posts)Boebert's clan was in an ATV accident a few years ago where a family friend was injured & it was quietly swept under the rug.
You're right though, it's a problem in many areas with DUI accidents.

(6,017 posts)Does that seem...like good police work to you? Where I live, any such situation immediately implies alcohol &/or drug testing. In fact, I can't recall ever hearing of cops asking the passenger, "hey, is the driver high, too?" and then just accepting said person's answer at face value.

(4,002 posts)I was pulled over at 17 in a suburb of Minneapolis. My Dad was a police chief in a nearby suburb and very well known (30+ years in LE). I remember the officer asking me if Im related to Chief XXXXXXXXX. I received a reckless driving ticket, had to go to court, no downgrading, a driving class, and Dad took the car for three months. I ended up going into the Navy anyway so it wasnt a huge issue but I had to explain the ticket to the Navy Investigative Service due to going into submarines and having a Top Secret clearance.
These slap on the wrist driving school sentences. It mightve been good for me. I dont know as it was never offered. But I know in a lot of cases it does no good.
