I am ashamed to say that I doubted Mr. Bragg. Alvin Bragg isn't doing a pyramid strategy going after the hundreds of people who are sending him death threats, Alvin Bragg is going for the head of the snake, the person inciting the threats.
Let's see how Gym Jordan acts in federal court where he can't just Tweet out inane comments.
Lead the way Mr. Bragg, lead the way.

(169,758 posts)IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK
________________________________________________________________
ALVIN L. BRAGG, JR., in his official capacity as District Attorney for New York County,
Plaintiff,
v. JIM JORDAN, in his official capacity as Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary;
COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES; and MARK F. POMERANTZ,
Defendants.
__________________________________________________________________
Case No. 23-cv-03032
INTRODUCTION
1. Plaintiff District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. brings this action in response to an unprecedently brazen and unconstitutional attack by members of Congress on an ongoing New York State criminal prosecution and investigation of former President Donald J. Trump. Beginning on March 20, 2023, Representative Jim Jordan, Chairman of the House Committee on the Judiciary (the Committee), began a transparent campaign to intimidate and attack District Attorney Bragg, making demands for confidential documents and testimony from the District Attorney himself as well as his current and former employees and officials. Two days after Mr. Trump was arraigned on 34 felony counts in New York State Supreme Court, Chairman Jordan and the Committee served a subpoena on Mark Pomerantz, a former Special Assistant District Attorney who participated in an investigation of Mr. Trump and his businesses. The subpoena seeks to compel Mr. Pomerantz to testify in a deposition on April 20, 2023. Chairman Jordans demands, including his subpoena to Mr. Pomerantz, seek highly sensitive and confidential local prosecutorial information that belongs to the Office of the District Attorney and the People of New York.

(169,758 posts)and there is no rhyme or reason as to why a Congressional Committee needs to insert itself into a state's criminal investigation, particularly when that state is prosecuting a suspect based on a STATE'S laws.
It's idiotic that Gymsuit is leaving a clear trail of obstruction. In fact, NY state has in its penal code, what they dub "Obstructing governmental administration", which if Jordan keeps at this, they could charge him with.
SECTION 195.05
Obstructing governmental administration in the second degree
Penal (PEN) CHAPTER 40, PART 3, TITLE L, ARTICLE 195
========================================
§ 195.05 Obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
A person is guilty of obstructing governmental administration when he
intentionally obstructs, impairs or perverts the administration of law
or other governmental function or prevents or attempts to prevent a
public servant from performing an official function, by means of
intimidation, physical force or interference, or by means of any
independently unlawful act, or by means of interfering, whether or not
physical force is involved, with radio, telephone, television or other
telecommunications systems owned or operated by the state, or a county,
city, town, village, fire district or emergency medical service or by
means of releasing a dangerous animal under circumstances evincing the
actor's intent that the animal obstruct governmental administration.
Obstructing governmental administration is a class A misdemeanor.

Bragg's office is slowly escalating their "warnings" before they consider going that far.

(169,758 posts)Congress doesn't have any "oversight" over individual state civil or criminal prosecutions - and especially when it has to do with violations of state law, which is the case here.
NY has that "interference" mention in the penal code that Jordan can be charged with if he continues his ridiculous charade. The lawsuit actually uses the penal code language to characterize this. A hearing is scheduled for the lawsuit next week -

The court will hold a hearing on Bragg's motion on Wednesday, April 19.

The lawsuit makes specific mention of threats Bragg has endured since Trump posted on social media about the prospect of being indicted.
"Later that day, a package containing suspicious white powder arrived at the District Attorney's Office along with a note making a specific death threat against the District Attorney. The New York City Police Department and the Department of Environmental Protection responded and ultimately concluded the substance was not dangerous. In the aftermath, the District Attorney's Office received more than 1,000 calls and emails from individuals claiming to be Mr. Trump's supporters, many of which were threatening and racially charged. District Attorney Bragg also received multiple death threats," the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit accused Jordan and the House Republicans of "participating in a campaign of intimidation, retaliation, and obstruction." It noted how Trump "has threatened New York officials with violent and racist vitriol."

First, they indict a president for no crime.
Then, they sue to block congressional oversight when we ask questions about the federal funds they say they used to do it.

He will however, go on Fox, give a completely different narrative of the facts, and claim a victory.
