Any lawyers here think the SC will rule against the Christian Taliban judge on abortion pill?

Because of they dont oppose this, Women cant live in a country where this stands.

Only two options at that point.

I wanna know what court observers think.

Attempting to outlaw the abortion pill nationally invalidates that line of “reasoning”. Not that Repugs are ever hypocrites now and then.

This won't get time on their argument docket. The appeals court will kill it, and when petitioned, the SC won't hear it.

That's my guess.

For that matter, why do we have an Executive Branch of government, for the same reason?

a bridge too far.

The current "conservative" Court majority will probably do the political calculations before ruling. They will save the State Republicans from destroying the national Party. It's not about legal arguments, it's about political expediency and salvaging the Party that got them on the Supreme Court.

That are so out of line they violate all precedent. But it doesn't seem to stop them. They add little caveats like this can't be used as precedent.

Bush v Gore cones to mind.

This opinion is worse that the opinions in the Special Master case. This opinion is a piece of crap that makes up new rules for standing and has this judge make his own judgment about medical and scientific issues. For example on standing

Here is an example on the scientific issues

I thought that Eileen Cannon's opinions in the Special Master litigation were special but this opinion out does Lose Cannon's opinions

a backdoor to declaring that a fertilized egg has more rights than the woman it is inside.

It relegates those who can become pregnant to second class citizens while making the ultra religious happy.

What more could they possibly ask for? Of course they will do it.

in a good way, if everyone voted.

When canvassing before the last presidential caucus, my son 17 at the time, stopped at a house and the woman there was friendly enough, but she said "I don't vote and I'm proud of it. None of my kids vote either!". She also proudly declared that she could not read or write. He got out of there as quickly as he could.

would generally vote for Democrats, but they have a whole list of reasons...mostly boiling down to "I don't have time", but it takes very little time once or twice a year! It is endlessly frustrating.

MAGAts vote because they want to stick it to "the libs".

I think that the 5th. Circuit Court of Appeals, though quite conservative, will still rule to overturn the ban, so it may not even need to reach scotus.

But I don't think they would be doing this if they didn't think the SC was in their pocket. As others have said, this issue didn't just pop up. It was planned long enough ago that we now have a majority on the SC that have dedicated their lives to it.

Oh, and you ain't seen nuthin yet. If cuccessful, when they are done, there will be colored drinking fountains.
