(1,204 posts)it's completely absurd that he's allowed to run at all. In fact I can't believe he's not in Gitmo.
So yes, my question wasn't so much a sign of fear as it was, gaming out the response. It feels like this is where the crazy red states will choose to drive the car off the cliff - basically break the electoral college for good.

(7,604 posts)independents and anyone else are sprinting away from him at break-neck speed. While the 14th Amendment has merit, it may not matter. Trump will fail big time. It will be a worse loss for him than 2020. No one wants that fucker running anything, unless they're hell-bent on a Putin wannabe and they hate the Constitution.

(10,943 posts)... it will make his vote total go down, but he can't win the vote, anyway. Hillary and Joe won the vote. Neither he nor the TV newsreaders talk much about that... so, if the state is one he needs to win in the Electoral College, he will raise holy Hell. But, he will raise Hell in any case...

(23,187 posts)...it would be an incendiary provocation with unforeseeable national consequences. I doubt any would try, to and I hope that none do.
However all of that changes if he is convicted of charges stemming from the Justice Dept. investigation of his actions intended to overturn the Presidential election, leading up to, and on, January 6, 2001. Upon such a conviction he would be disqualified under the 14th amendment, and states should be constitutionally required to remove him from the ballot.
