General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAs I read Jim Jordan's complaint that the Bragg complaint against him "attempts to
obstruct our oversight function", it occurred to me that "oversight" is the MAGA party's primary goal.
Thet want to "oversee" who we love, how we worship, women's health decisions, teen girls' menstrual cycles, what fuel we use, what cars we drive, what books we read and---most importantly---whose vote REALLY counts.
There are no "good" MAGA policies.

(81,500 posts)Hes a short guy. Probably what drew him to some alpha male activity in high school or college or something - to build muscle. You cant build height - even lifts in your shoes only add a couple of inches and he needed/wanted more than a couple of inches. He wanted to tower over everyone else but it just wasnt meant to be. So he went for the body-building and muscles and physical dominance and virility that wrestling might be able to give him.
And okay, Im gonna go there: his lack of physical stature probably extends - um - below the waist.
Whatever. Having observed his belligerence and attempted bullying behavior, Id suspect he has a short-guy complex. And probably early-on, overcompensation was his way to thinking of himself as more powerful and dominant. He probably yearned to have some weight to throw around. No wonder he eventually aimed toward the corridors of political power! Youll see! Theyre gonna fear me NOW!

Bragg's suit against him in federal court even cites the "language" of the NY penal code that Gymsuit is violating.
From pg 3 of the suit -
IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK
________________________________________________________________
ALVIN L. BRAGG, JR., in his official capacity as District Attorney for New York County,
Plaintiff,
v. JIM JORDAN, in his official capacity as Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary;
COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES; and MARK F. POMERANTZ,
Defendants.

Case No. 23-cv-03032
(BREAK BREAK BREAK)
Case 1:23-cv-03032 Document 1 Filed 04/11/23 Page 3 of 50
(snip)
4. The charges the District Attorney filed against Mr. Trump were approved by citizens of New York. They did their civic duty as members of a grand jury pursuant to the federal Constitution and laws of the State of New York. Like any other defendant, Mr. Trump is entitled to challenge these charges in court. He can avail himself of all the processes and protections that New York States robust criminal procedure affords. 5. But rather than allowing the criminal process to proceed in the ordinary course, Chairman Jordan and the Committee are participating in a campaign of intimidation, retaliation, and obstruction. Mr. Trump in particular has threatened New York officials with violent and racist vitriol.

First, they indict a president for no crime.
Then, they sue to block congressional oversight when we ask questions about the federal funds they say they used to do it.
