MI: Will Ann Arbor voters take advantage of new early voting option? City seeks feedback
ANN ARBOR, MI True early voting is coming to Michigan for the 2024 election cycle and Ann Arbor wants input from residents as the city clerks office plans implementing it locally.
With statewide voter approval of Prop 2 in November 2022, Michigan will be introducing nine days of early voting as a new option for voters to cast ballots in statewide federal elections.
Ann Arbor is now asking city residents to take a six-question anonymous survey to help inform the city how local voters prefer to cast ballots and their awareness of the new voting option.
The survey asks residents how they plan to vote in the November 2024 general election, whether in person at the polls on Election Day, via absentee ballot (which requires more paperwork and having ballots sealed in envelopes and stored for tabulation on Election Day) or by voting before Election Day at an early vote center with ballots tabulated on the spot.
The city expects early voting centers to help further eliminate long lines and wait times on Election Day.
