Dominion should demand an apology in addition to a monetary award Tucker, Laura, and Maria apologize on air for their roles in this calumny. They should be required to do it in 🤡 suits but that might be too large of an ask.

(17,019 posts)Id want a judgement against them on the books. I also wonder if the delay is due to something else. Like the judge ordering them to turn over communications from/to Murdoch since learning they lied about his position at Fox News.

(17,019 posts)dont have to be followed. They can drag a settlement out for years. Forcing Dominion to drag them back to court over and over.

(23,662 posts)Make them pay a full amount + so that faux news is bankrupted and is relegated to late nite 1/2 slots on the Comedy Channel between episodes of I LOVE LUCY
and THE MONKEES or something.
And Hannity has to wear a clown nose, tucker a red Ronald McDonald wig, and Laura ingraham has her front teeth blacked out
at the least.

(10,072 posts)Pay more than the $1.6b to cover punitive damages. I still would prefer a trial.

(21,629 posts)The implications of this lawsuit go WAY beyond Dominion and I hope they appreciate the need to fight this to the end.

(18,641 posts)Id wager that they have mounds of personal dirt on all the Dominion executives.
Dominion will settle for a token fee and then let the whole thing be pushed under the rug.
Would that be blackmail? Probably not if Fox figured out how it could be used as valid evidence in the case and Im sure they have.
Maybe Ive just watched too many lawyer TV shows but Ill bet the Fox people have too.

(53,061 posts)$3.2 billion is equal to about 5% of their capitalization and I am guessing that their stock will probably recover that much in the market.
They will still have to negotiate another billion or so with systematic.
They might get more in the trial but not worth the risk.

(8,924 posts)They want the facts of this case and the Fox story out in the open for everyone to see.
And should this bankrupt Fox out of existence, so be it.

(42,767 posts)Trying the case is not without risk to Dominion. They don't have a slam dunk case -- indeed, in my four decades as an attorney, I've learned that when it comes to jury trials, there is no such thing as a slam dunk.
The question is whether Fox would ever agree to the terms Dominion almost certainly would demand.
aggiesal
(8,924 posts)is that FOX admits that they repeated lied about Dominion, to their audience.
Of course FOX doesn't want to do this because they fear losing viewership to Newsmax and other RW fake news sources.

Just another aspect of the corrupt legal system that is attacking their dear leader.
By extension, Republican politicians will believe as the base believes.
They'll be the ones choosing voting systems where they rule.
Republicans respect crushing power.....nothing else.
