If Fox settles with Dominion, such settlement will require Fox to issue statements to the effect that TFG lost the 2020 election and that the Big Lie is indeed a lie. Murdoch at one point contemplated having Tuck, Hannity and Ingraham apologize for the big lie. I can see Dominion demanding that the key Fox hosts apologize every night for several weeks.
TFG is worried that Fox settling will kill his fundraising

Its painfully obvious Trump wants the case to settle, because he doesnt want the truth coming out. In a screaming 3am post overnight, Trump suggested Fox News should stand by his election fraud lies to weaken Dominion Voting Systems arguments in the case.......
Perhaps this is a sign that Trump wants Fox News to settle, so that the public doesnt learn the truth that Fox News knew all along that Trumps claims were lies, and that they were lying to their audience for months. Their audience trusts them, and they knowingly lied, knowing it would only sow division and cause further problems in the country, including their contribution to the January 6 Capitol riots.
Lets hope that Dominion does the right thing and doesnt settle this case. Fox News and Rupert Murdoch have a lot of money. And they know they dont have a case. Taking this case to trial will out them as the liars they are and possibly hurt the trust they have gained with their audience. So they have probably offered Dominion a ton of money to settle. Dominion could take a billion dollars, and be done. But if they care about this country, they will let this case go to trial, and let the American people see what Fox News did after the election, and allow their viewers to realize that they have been lied to.

(11,767 posts)Anyone who doesn't see how small and ridiculous Trump is, is likely small and ridiculous themselves. They think he is, "Fighting back". He is lashing out like a 2 year old having a tantrum. There is nothing positive about what Trump is doing. It isn't a sign of strength or integrity. It is, as many are saying, a sign that he is scared. He sees the walls closing in. He is scared and sad, but he has never learned to process those emotions so he reacts the only way he knows how, in impotent anger, which he thinks makes him look strong, but which actually makes him look ridiculous.
The truly confident, truly innocent person is not up at 3 am writing angry tweets. The confident person, the innocent, is typically sleeping, preparing for the next day they will face in peace and tranquility.

I don't think he has the introspection necessary to regret his run in 2016. But he should.

Wonder Why
(7,029 posts)admit their lies in public and hear the Fox dissenters who are on the witness list roast Fox alive.
Remember, Dominion can ask for punitive damages. I vote for $100B from Fox and from the "talking heads" and executives.

(114,615 posts)The Dominion slander was just one lie of many, most of which slandered election workers. He's still going to be blaming them and unless there's a multi state class action suit, which would be nearly impossible, those lies aren't stopping any time soon.
What you need to remember is that this will all be greasy lawyer doing, they're just doing a settlement to make his team look bad, to make a company that stole the election from him look good, he's the real victim here, even Pox is against him now, send money.
C'mon, you know this stuff.
If he's terrified, it's about stuff he can't duck, like his overvalued assets and undervalued debts on his financial statement, about Jack Smith, about being treated like a criminal and having his fingerprints take, about those traitors in GA who misinterpreted his perfect phone call about finding more votes, you get the picture.
Murdoch having to shell out an undisclosed amount to Dominion hidden by one of his favorite things, an NDA, is small potatoes, nothing to do with him, everybody knows they stole the election from him no matter what the settlement doesn't say.
