The subtext here is that Anheuser-Busch called Faux news and told them to cut it the fuck out Hugh_Lebowski Apr 2023 #1

And Faux is now easing their viewers back into their advertiser's fold with segments like this.

People at the top of the food chain know how to manipulate the general public SO MUCH better than any of us think.

designed for wingnut consumption.

The message is ... AB is SOOO RICH (i.e. almost God-like) that there's no point in trying to deny them their tribute. Wingnuts respond to 'power'.

So they're trying to backtrack on the AB things they've been saying lately, but in a subtle way ... to please their advertiser ... but not offend their 'guests'.

Think about it, and think about the audience

I'm actually pretty sure I could not wash my hands explicitly for 10 years and never get sick from not doing it. But that isn't because germs don't exist. It's because germs can't fuck with my immune system. I haven't spent a whole day in bed sick from a pathogen in like 35 years. And I just had my first-ever flu shot this year.

And I'm NOT obsessive about washing my hands like at all. After a poop and incidentally in the shower is the only truly-consistent time, just sayin.

However that also reminds it's a stupid thing to claim because you wash your hands in the shower ... every time you shower, so ...

there are only two or three actual beer producers on the planet.

Everyone else is selling the rejects from the big guys

I haven't drunk Bud or any or its associated brands for decades, since I don't like the taste. Same goes for any local labels they may own: there are enough better tasting ones around that get my patronage.

I will say one good thing about Anheuser-Busch, though. After the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989 they stopped their production line in the Bay Area and started filling the beer cans with water - which they sent to the hard-hit area around Watsonville.

And nobody could tell the difference.

Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all night, and try the veal.

I drink Independent Breweries for the most part for the better flavors.

None of the Big 3 make a product I prefer.
