What kind of man would you have to be to like a guy who would build a political career on the backs of frightened teenage girls, other people's daughters who are struggling with unwanted pregnancies? Who but the most ruthless of bullies would choose this particular age group and gender to use as his stepping stone to greater power, fame, and fortune? Who would be capable of thinking up ever new ways to torment this vulnerable group of women at one of the most wrenching moments of their young lives? Who would seek to make them even more fearful, anxious, and shamed than so many of them feel without assistance from bullies like DeSantis, Gregg Abbott, or other men who should have better things to do to earn their offices, their salaries, or their membership in the human race?

If you were a man who had such power, what kind of man would you be if you used the most vulnerable people as targets for hate and harassment, making a show of spending taxpayers money to send immigrants to cities up north without even letting those people know where they're bound?

What kind of man would you be if you had the power to improve things for people, but chose instead to restrict speech, ban books, and use small children as pawns in your game?

What sort of person seeks to disturb the peace by riling up the most volatile and angry people, riling up their paranoia and rage, then directing them toward school board meetings and parents' nights at elementary schools?

What kind of men think they are doing a damn bit of good by making it legal for anyone at all to carry unregistered hand guns? What kind of man can't see the consequences to come from such a corrupted idea of what freedom means?

Their husband's or their father's position gives them a status their minds and egos don't have to work for. They're princesses in public, no matter what anger they have to swallow because they're trapped with house and kids.
The most important thing to them is that buying into the authoritarian patriarchy gives them a perception of privilege, a position from which socially they can look down on other women who have either exercised their choice to go another way or have fallen through the cracks because there wasn't a male to support them.

There is a mix of greedy pride and fear in such women. In a patriarchy, a woman's reputation is the only measure of freedom she has - but it can be a powerful measure if that patriarchy is the only culture she knows.

You perfectly described many of the women (wives) of the affluent neighborhoods. They have their "Teas" where they throw their support behind something, but it is usually something safe. Many of them sit on "Boards". They belong to their local county clubs and constantly attend "Dinners" on their husbands' arms. Behind the scenes they hide their problems and stuff down their personal issues with alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, therapies, and plastic surgeries. There is also abuse in those marriages as well as affairs, but the wives stuff those down as well. There is a hierarchy in their social circles and they strive to rise within, or at least never slide to the lower levels and would hate themselves if they did, even more than they probably already do.

8. The women I know who speak out against abortion rights...

All had abortions. It’s not a huge sample but still eye opening. The ones who are talking seem to want to restrict the rights of others to absolve their own perceived ‘sins’. It is seriously a messed up mission!
