Murkowski torches Kacsmaryk over WaPo story that he swapped out his name on article criticizing Obama policies
You want to talk about the ultimate bait and switch? I feel like I got duped"
As a Texas judge's abortion pill ruling sits with the Supreme Court, Lisa Murkowski is fuming over info he reportedly he did not disclose during his confirmation.
Sure, she disagrees with his decision to try and block access to abortion medication. But a Washington Post report that he switched out his name on an article not disclosed during his confirmation process criticizing Obama administration policies on abortion and transgender people has the Alaska Republican hopping mad.
You want to talk about the ultimate bait and switch? I feel like I got duped. I feel like voted for somebody based on what had been presented to me. And you do this? That is totally, totally wrong, Murkowski said in an interview on Wednesday.

(82,849 posts)See, that's the way it works. Republicans can pull every slimy, underhanded, devious trick in the book (and a few more tricks that never got written down), and their nominees have their lifetime appointment secured. Perjury? Bribery? Corruption? None of it matters. Kacsmaryk will keep his sinecure for as long as the corrupt Republicans need him to be the only judge in a particular district.
Suggest that the Majority Leader simply name someone to sit in Sen. Feinstein's chair on the Judicial Committee, and suddenly everyone's wrapped up in rules and procedures and that's-not-quite-cricket-old-boy. If the situation was reversed, the Republicans would do it in a nanosecond and never flinch.
