LINCOLN A woman who protested the approval of constitutional carry in the state will no longer be allowed in the Nebraska State Capitol or its grounds, except in select circumstances.
Melody Vaccaro, executive director of Nebraskans Against Gun Violence, shouted Shame! multiple times immediately after senators voted Wednesday to approve Legislative Bill 77, proposed by State Sen. Tom Brewer of Gordon. The proposal, approved 33-14, is Brewers long-fought effort to remove permit and training requirements for concealed carry of a handgun.
Vaccaro told the Nebraska Examiner she was asked to leave the Capitol, and Nebraska State Patrol served her with a banned and barred notice, restricting access except for scheduled appointments.
I would understand when you make an outburst spirit takes you and you make an outburst of course, theyre going to escort you out and youre going to have to leave, Vaccaro said. That seems pretty reasonable.

(22,543 posts)purpose of forming well regulated militias when needed. Hamilton's description of these militias sounds like state guards. Therefore, a governor should nowadays be responsible for insuring that the state guard/militia is well regulated. I don't consider gun usage by anyone without a permit to qualify as well regulated. I don't consider open carry as satisfying the well regulated criterion. A previous post described army weaponry being turned in after exercises and locked up. That sounds well regulated to me. Open carry, permitless carry, lack of secure storage, gun show sales... none of these satisfy the constitution's regulation requirement, to me. So, whenever a murder occurs and the murderer had a gun, but wasn't a member of a well regulated militia and the governor wasn't taking any steps to insure that guns were supervised as required, the governor should be sued for negligence of office or contributing to the commission of the crime.
There is no way that the 2A was meant to permit fatal road rage, mass murders or any sort of ego-driven misuse of weapons. There is no way that the current gun abuse in America was foreseen or intended.
