audio obtained of GOP planning to "combat" student voting in states with large public universities

Bradley Foundation board member Cleta Mitchell bemoans college voting in private meeting with top GOP donors

A board member of the Milwaukee-based Bradley Foundation recently told top Republican donors that conservatives need to curtail college voting, singling out Wisconsin among four other states.

Cleta Mitchell made the comments during an April 15 presentation at a Republican National Committee donor retreat in Nashville, according to a report appearing in The Washington Post

--------

The Post said it reviewed a copy of Mitchell's recent presentation that focused on limiting "voting on college campuses, same-day voter registration and automatic mailing of ballots to registered voters." The GOP has not formally endorsed the plan but a spokesman told the Post that the party was "thankful for leaders like Cleta Mitchell who do important work for the Republican ecosystem."

The Post reported that Mitchell focused on campus voting in Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and Virginia.

In a separate audio posted on Twitter by liberal activist Lauren Windsor, Mitchell is heard discussing college voting.

“What are these college campus locations?” she asked, according to the audio. “What is this young people effort that they do? They basically put the polling place next to the student dorm so they just have to roll out of bed, vote, and go back to bed.”

Mitchell said 'Wisconsin is a big problem'

Mitchell said: "Wisconsin is a big problem because of the first day, because of the polling locations on college campuses. There are 501c3's (nonprofits). Their goal for the Supreme Court race was to turn out 240,000 college students in that Supreme Court race. And we don't have anything like that and we need to figure out how to do that and combat that."

The filthy rich funding, planning for, and using the Greedy Old Perverts have a multi-prong attack plan.

We keep messing with their plans of selecting just the "right" voters!

And they're talking about all the aspects of "minority rule" being advanced in numerous states. Determining which books are allowed in schools, The 10 Commandments displayed in classrooms!, and making it even more difficult for college students to vote where they go to school. The list goes on.

students, people of color, and anyone else who might vote for Democratic candidates"!!!

She is disgusting! This audio needs to be played on every college campus across America.

The GOP especially hates college voters because college students are intelligent enough to see through their bullshit and they understand and are repelled by the cruelty of GOP political stances on abortion, guns, the climate crisis, and more.

I've read the papers college students write, and you would not be talking about them being intelligent enough to see through BS if you'd read them, too.

I'll allow that most of the 3.0-4.0 students are probably that smart (although not a guarantee), but not everyone belongs to that crowd. In fact, not even a majority of college students qualify. No, far more numerous are the sub-3.0 students, most of who are indeed dumb enough to believe very stupid stuff.

The horror stories I could tell about the brain-melting stupid that came out of the keyboards and pens and mouths of my classmates... That was a daily occurrence, both when I was in college in the 2010s, and when I originally attended uni in the early 80s.

I have no doubt it will always be true.

It speaks well of you that you want to believe the best about people, but sometimes we have to face certain realities, like how the average American is rather stupid--and half the population is dumber than that.

to limit voting by out-of-state college students. Fortunately, they failed and I was allowed to vote for McGovern in Maine. Conservatives have been trying to limit the vote for decades. Actually, for the entire life of our country if you consider who was allowed to vote when the constitution was adopted.

Since voting is made convenient the obvious solution to "combat" it is to give college students a reason to vote for your side!
She's basically admitting they have bad ideas and only low turnout gives them a chance.
Notice how better ideas isn't really what she's talking about.

vote democratic out of stupidity or illogic and wanting free stuff.

Their opinion is that they vote GOP because it's the intelligent, logical, patriotic thing to do . So making harder for young, women, Black people to vote is right and just.
