If we're negotiating the debt ceiling, let's have some demands of our own

Don't just play defense if you go down that path. Assault weapons ban and $15 minimum wage seem like good starters.

Increasing good stamps for the poor, needy and disabled?
making sure no cuts happen to SSI and SSD?
How about making damn sure none of the anti-lbgt trash gets included in the bill? We won't stand for it!

Biden has repeatedly said- clean bill or no bill.

Budget negotiations are separate from the debt ceiling.

Period.

OP and all. That one by the way was also published yesterday...I have no idea why it matters that an unidentified GOP idiot makes an unsupported claim about an investigation of a private citizen and am completely in the dark about why it is posted again.

As for the debt ceiling, Biden has said over and over again that he will never negotiate the debt ceiling. I believe him. We saw what happened with that nonsense during Obama's term...And of course, your suggestions would be DOA with Republicans. They would never do it...and there will be no negotiations IMHO...I hope you are enjoying DU...it really is a wonderful place full of intelligent people...

The debt ceiling isn't a time to negotiate. It's really a simple parliamentary move. The Dems have rightfully kept it separate from the actual budget debate.

Raise the top tax bracket to 50% and cut out all millionaire tax loopholes written into the tax code.

These fuckers in one breath say we have a deficit and want to cut the IRS which collects revenue. You don't need an MBA to know that if you cut revenue you aren't going to get where you want to go.
