Boycotting a product, Bud Light, because you and it have a cause.

Boycotting a product, Bud Light, because you and it have a cause.

Separate causes.

People have gotten all upset recently that Bud light has put a transgender person on some of their cans, so they are now boycotting Bud light and recommending other brands/labels. It's just not that easy. Anheuser-Busch makes many many different labels of beverages and the Belgian company that owns Anheuser-Busch also owns many other companies and brands. It can be tough trying to change to a different label only to find that it also supports what you think you're protesting.

MTG was criticizing Bud light and said she was going to favor / promote Coors beer.

Then people realized that Coors beer also has some LGBTIQQ friendly programs.

They've never been to a ball game. Do they think there are separate lines for Bud and Bud light? FSogol Apr 2023 #2
Actually, it was 1 can. A custom one they gave to her. FSogol Apr 2023 #3
All that protest for one can... Just too rich. keithbvadu2 Apr 2023 #4
They should print some with snowflakes so all the boycotters can have one with their face on it. FSogol Apr 2023 #5

Went to a baseball game last night. The lines for Bud light were non-existent everyone was drinking lone Star beer.................

Lone Star brewery, built in 1884, was the first large mechanized brewery in texas. Adolphus bush, of Anheuser busch, found it and along with a group of San Antonio businessman. Lone Star is the national beer of texas. The brand has endured and refreshed generations of Texas. LOL

(comments further down the chain)

Pabst owns Lone Star
-----------------------------
Except Pabst doesn’t brew any of its own beer, and instead contracts it out to MillerCoors. They are nothing but a holding company of brands - No in-house production.
----------------------------

Even so, here is a Pabst marketing campaign.

Pabst partnered with digital media company Vice on two documentaries and a series of portraits about the ever-evolving American Dream that will run around the Memorial Day and Fourth of July holidays. The videos spotlight the diversity of modern America, and feature Niecee X, a poet and leader of the Black Women’s Defense League; Subhi, a gay Syrian refugee; Erika, a police officer and veteran; Violet, a Texas drag queen; Mai, a Vietnamese farmer and Outspoken Bean, a Houston poet.

Now some guy is promoting his own ‘Woke-Free Beer’.

It will be made in some small brewery but it makes you wonder if they also make other private labels/products that could be LGBTQ friendly.

In the Kerry/Dubya election, the conservatives had this conservative ketchup so they would be protesting Heinz ketchup, which they thought was enriching Kerry’s wife. She had sold most of her part of Heinz. The conservative ketchup was very expensive and then you had to pay shipping, which was not cheap either. I emailed one of the companies wondering if they had actually bought or leased a factory to make a short-term fad product. They contracted it out to a gourmet ketchup company ---- in California.

The conservative sheeple were buying overpriced ketchup from Liberalfornia to protest something that was not happening.

I wished them well in their endeavors. They found a niche market to make a good buck.

Funny thing - Heinz Corp was primarily supporting republicans.

There was also a big flailex about 'freedom fries'.

Funny thing; they were still called french fries in the Dubya White House menu.

In almost 30 years of living here, every single television station has had some reason to be boycotted. Who they hired. Who they fired. Some position they took on religion or politics in an editorial. Or who owned them. Or some show they presented or refused to present.

Mulvaney also shows viewers a custom Bud Light can with her face on it, to help celebrate a year since transitioning, which she called her first year of “girlhood.” The can with Mulvaney’s face is not for sale, but the company announced an upcoming line of Pride-themed cans featuring different pronouns.

RW boycotts are more temper tantrums than anything. Just more snowflakes having meltdowns.
