However, if more indictments roll out before the GOP debates start in August, we might see a renewed push to change the rules.

Republicans succeed in crashing the economy with higher fuel prices and default on the debt Trump could certainly be elected. All the Republicans

This whole post was about the general public.

But if you want to be real, the same poll in the OP shows that 52% of Democrats don't want Biden to run again:

https://apnorc.org/projects/most-democrats-would-support-biden-if-he-wins-the-nomination/

73% of all Americans don't want him to run again.

86% of independents don't want him to run again.

Really, Biden's numbers are worse than Trump's overall.

Only 14% of independents want Biden to seek reelection. 37% want Trump to seek the presidency in 2024.

So, really, more people want Trump to run than Biden to run. So, we better hope those who don't want Biden to run are still willing to vote for him.

Thanks for the link. Those numbers are definitely not encouraging, but I need to take some time and mull over what all of this data means. (For example, just off the top of my head, if 37% of independents want Trump to run, would any of those people vote for any Democrat?)

I am honestly not personally convinced at this point that it's a terrible idea for Biden to run again. This is one poll, it's very early days, and all that. But it is helpful to know what your comment was based on.

I love Biden myself. I think he's been doing a great job, and I believe his experience (as incumbent, and also as V.P. and all those years in the Senate) is a tremendous strength. The depth of his understanding of how things work in Washington is a very BFD, IMO.

Sat Apr 22, 2023, 10:41 PM

So, even then, it seems unlikely it was, as you said, 'a lot of Democratic votes'.

Every election is a trade off.

Trump might have won 10% of Obama voters - but how many Romney voters shifted to Hillary? In 2016, she won 8% of Republican votes. That was a two-point increase over Obama's 6% in 2012.

So, the change was marginal and certainly not something I'm worried about.

My worry is turnout - getting turnout in the urban and suburban areas. That's what lost PA, MI and WI for Hillary and won it for Biden.

Trump, Gaetz, Gosar, Greene, Boebert, Jackson, Tuberville, Hageman, all the MAGA Taliban school board assholes... they can all fuck off and get the hell out of our government. And take their stupid conspiracy theories with them.

On the one hand, I feel exactly the same as you. I would love nothing better to have just one fucking day without reading his name or seeing his repulsive, bloated face.

On the other hand, I want him to hang around long enough to fucking destroy Tiny D, The Dictator of America Wannabe.

49. K & R.....REPUBLICAN PROFESSIONALS DON'T WANT HIM TO RUN. WHY? THEY KNOW HE WILL LOSE.

Long term professionals know Trump will lose. ..........

Can you see this Democratic Campaign ad: "Donald Trump said the pandemic was a hoax, and it killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. Do you want him as President again?
________________________________________________________________________________________

This is not complicated, is it? No, this is not complicated at all. Long term professionals in the Republican Party know that
Trump will lose, and he will lose by a very large margin. (like a landslide!)

Those elected and non-elected Republican professionals know the outcome of Donald Trump running again.
And they will do ......"Everything in their power to prevent that from happening".......
.......One last idea that is very important and very simple..........................................................

.......................... If I can figure this out, then they can figure it out too. .............................................

LOL

I read earlier today on some poll,
that among those who want neither Biden nor Trump to run for president in 2024,
Biden beats Trump by 59-14 percent, if they have to choose between them.

I'm shocked that it's gone this far. Our news media is freaking derelict at this point.

HE ATTEMPTED A COUP TO OVERTHROW THE LAST ELECTION! HE IS STILL FUCKING LYING ABOUT IT!

It should not even be a question of whether he's running again but they kept injecting that into the discussion as if it's a fair thing to even be discussing. The only thing we should be fucking discussing with regard to him is when the freaking handcuffs will be slapped on for the crime of trying to overthrow a legitimate American election. 🤬🤬
