(20,769 posts)Steve Bannon has been in his ear. Or is Musk this chaotic and dangerous on his own?

(43,850 posts)Its utterly weird. He seems to want it to appear theyre buying in but theyre pissed, then they catch flak from the minions for using their now verified accounts to protest. And he just posts little smirky replies to them. Its chaos. I hang in because Im interested in some accounts but honestly, the bullshit to usefulness ration is wayyyyy out of kilter.

(18,714 posts)Twitter, despite its faults pre-Musk, was a platform used to provide up to date information that was particularly useful to protestors here in the states and abroad.
This total dissolution of the infrastructure of Twitter is obviously intentional and meant to sow chaos

(39,167 posts)When all the legacy badges went away, some sleuths claimed the code for them remained, twitter had just removed the image of the badges. Today, many of the notable accounts got rid of the blue check image by changing their twitter nickname or profile picture.
I'm wondering if there was maybe a system-wide update that just repopulated all those hidden blue checks, and there was nobody to tell them that would happen.

It's ok though. I've enjoyed Mastodon just as much. The IQ of the people there is higher.
Much less stress.
