17. I think the some of today's blue-check drama might be due to the lack of engineers

When all the legacy badges went away, some sleuths claimed the code for them remained, twitter had just removed the image of the badges. Today, many of the notable accounts got rid of the blue check image by changing their twitter nickname or profile picture.

I'm wondering if there was maybe a system-wide update that just repopulated all those hidden blue checks, and there was nobody to tell them that would happen.
