Offering a wager for all those predicting Carlson will end up at CNN

That speculation strikes me as bordering on the delusional. So much so that here's an offer:
For each DUer who posts to this thread that you think Carlson will end up at CNN, I'll donate $2 to DU if you're right provided you agree to donate $1 if you're wrong.

I think it's unlikely since they'd be exposing themselves to huge liability Marius25 Apr 2023 #1

I also think several anchors would quit if they did like Anderson Cooper.

He'll probably have to go the route of podcast and/or YouTube channel because I don't see any other show taking him on. Fox had deep pockets, the other right-wing networks like Newsmax seem to be actively avoiding lawsuits not courting them.

I find it difficult to imagine that they want another go-round with him. That's unless they want to have Jon Stewart back on to shred him to bits again before re-firing him.

given their recent trajectory, but I doubt it will. Who wants to take on that liability right now?

Still, he'll find a way to somewhat rebound eventually, maybe similar to O'Reilly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It has to be a fringe network, for whom the short-term benefit would be worth the long-term liability. CNN has too much to lose to do that.

see them finding a place for Tucker. It's not like CNN lets ethics get in the way of ratings. It wasn't all that long ago when they had a half a dozen Trump flunkies on every show telling lies all day long on Trump's behalf.

in Abby Grossberg's lawsuit against Fox for sexual harassment/hostile work environment claims. https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/grossberg-sdny-complaint/e95101c181555b15/full.pdf Lemon had been in trouble at CNN for years for misogynistic behavior and sexist remarks. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/cnn-don-lemon-misogyny-history-nikki-haley-1235574286/ They aren't likely to trade him for somebody at least as bad (Carlson seems to have been especially fond of the C-word).
