(14,553 posts)Her suit is lovely. Good example of how stupid laws are hard to enforce.

(22,728 posts)That is a really good question, about Harris' attire. The article I just read was VERY vague about the specifics. I'm imagining things like "women" (as defined by Texas law) being required to wear dresses and only "men" (as defined by Texas law) being allowed to wear pants, but > have no idea what it actually says.
Regardless, of course, that dress code is an atrocity.

(9,361 posts)Nothing like that ever happened with Republicans.
It hasn't always happened with Democrats either, though.

(82,383 posts)Since then, Democrats have had good running mate/P and VP friendships.
Clinton and Gore hugged at the convention when they were nominated and some Rs seemed to think that was stupid or something. Typical.

(4,741 posts)Carter and Mondale had a great buddy relationship. Of course, back then, that sort of chumminess wasn't paid much attention to, but it did exist when they were in office together.
I seem to recall them being at some kind of press event ten or so years ago, and it was obvious from how they could laugh and joke around together that they were still close.
