We have to win in 2024
People say that the world is nothing like the Hitler era...but it is. Hitler singled out the Jews as a rallying cry for his power. It is easy to hate those who are not like you. Look what is happening to the gays in this country. It started out slowly, but seems to be escalating.
It seems that just excluding your average, everyday gay person was kinda risky--there are a lot of gay people in all walks of life--and so now it has settled on trans people. How many trans people are there? How many drag queens are walking about unfettered by hateful legislation, enjoying themselves peacefully in the good ole US of A? Trans kids and drag queens are suffering the most right now.
If we let white, male, Christofascists tell us what to do and be, then we will be lost. If Trump wins in 2024, he will turn this country into a prison camp, and execute those nonconforming people that are currently being shunned in society.
It seems to me that Germany allowed that to happen to their country. True, there probably isn't an easy way to protest. But, it took a horrendous World War to defeat the German Army, and ultimately break free of Hitler's influence. The culprits either committed suicide or were tried and hanged. Some escaped to serve prison sentences, and some ran to South America. But we won, at tremendous cost.
What would have happened if Hitler had been removed from power? Probably wouldn't have had to go through WW2.
Trump had an inspirational Hitler book at his bedside. He admires the basest of human leaders. He is LEARNING from those dictators who are the most despicable creatures on the planet. We, as humans, have the seeds of kindness in us. We cannot evolve or practice our true, benign and loving characteristics with a man who so mesmerizes and appeals to those other beasts who currently are working to suppress and torment the most inoffensive people in our society.
The popular quote, "First they came for the...then they came for...and when they finally came for me, there was no one left to speak for me..." has never been more truthful at this time. We are fighting a monster. We perhaps can't see it, but we can feel it. It is ugly, and many don't want to admit that, well, it certainly is shaping up to be a repeat of history, but what the hell. I am still functioning. Yes, you are, but you won't be, if the Orange Turd returns to power.
