You can choose to do otherwise.
To mitigate climate change will take a massive world wide effort on a scale not seen in human history. While the U S has been slowing decreasing the amount of greenhouse house gases it emits, China has not and now produces annually twice as much as the US. India is also increasing the amount of greenhouse gases it produces and will soon bypass the US.
Almost daily we see articles from reputable sources reporting that climate change is happening at a pace faster then earlier predicted.
