Fox Poll Shows Republicans in for a Brutal 2024 Election

Fox Poll Shows Republicans in for a Brutal 2024 Election

Even Fox is admitting on air that the policies it pushes aren’t all that popular with voters.

"SNIP........

On Friday, Colorado signed its own array of gun safety laws five months after a mass shooting left five people dead and another 25 injured at a gay nightclub. The measures include raising the buying age for guns to 21, establishing a three-day waiting period on purchases, strengthening red flag laws, and rolling back legal protections the gun industry has from being held liable for gun violence.

While Democrats have pursued and delivered on the outright will for more gun regulation, Republicans have spent their time tripping over themselves to bend their knees to the NRA and pledging: “We’re not gonna fix” mass shootings.

Beyond guns, abortion is proving to be just as motivating for voters to vote against Republicans.

In Wisconsin, another Trump-to-Biden state, voters recently flipped the state Supreme Court to liberal control for the first time in 15 years, in anticipation of protecting abortion rights and ameliorating the state’s absurdly gerrymandered districts.

If we end up defaulting, Republicans will blame it on Biden, and lots of Americans will too, because they don't understand how anything works.

or have their loved ones shot, and that women want control of their own bodies.

It really is that simple. Why don't Republicans get it?

These 2 issues are breaking Democrats' way. We must take this to the hoop and make bank on it.

The party has apparently decided not to highlight how the GOP has made the nation unsafe due to its allegiance to the gun lobby. "Oh, we don't want to alienate gun owners within the party," is the apparent thinking.

And the GOP will just keep on winning.

They are not timid; they have the power of their convictions.

(Disclaimer: I'm not saying all older Democrats are timid and weak; there are a lot with fire in their belly. But the younger generation--in general--has a much different political style, and I like it.)

They've become totally beholden to their brainwashed nutjob/dumbfuck Frankenstein monster of a base. If they lose the base, they've got nothing. But if they obey the base, they lose a lot of elections. ... Sucks to be them, I guess.

Primaries. There are fewer and fewer Republicans to vote in primaries, and the ones left are nuts. If they have to get through the primaries, they have to do what the nuts want. In other words, they're screwed in the general election, or at least, I hope so.

I think their vote share in 2022 mid term is higher than democrats. TFG also got the most votes for a candidate in 2020 besides the obvious Biden's vote numbers since he won the popular votes.

I agree that most of them are nuts because they are still gun-ho about TFG.

I had heard that the percentage of the population who are Republicans had decreased. It’s too long ago now for me to find that report. The question of the sorts of candidates who who can win Republican primaries still stands. Candidates have to be extreme to win.

In 2024, there are 14 Democratic Senators in for a hell of a fight to keep their seats. There are only two Repugs in the same situation.

and the "hit or miss" turnout of Democrat voters put us on the defensive.

We have apparently ceded many of the sparse population areas of the country to Republicans. To me, that is a major tactical error that limits our chances of making big changes.

The rest of us understand that people don't want to be shot no matter who is pulling the trigger. Guns are the problem.

Sure plenty of people are the problem. But without guns, their damage would be limited. Make it harder for them, not easier. I have to be patted down at airports because of some assholes on 9/11 so why shouldn't we make it harder for people to get assault rifles?
