Four Proud Boys members found guilty of seditious conspiracy

It's CNN, but since the other thread was closed, I grabbed what I could. Apologies.

Four members of the far-right Proud Boys have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy by a jury in Washington, DC, for their role to forcibly prevent the peaceful transfer of power from then-President Donald Trump to Joe Biden after the 2020 election.

Defendants Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl, Enrique Tarrio and Dominic Pezzola face a range of charges, including three separate conspiracy charges, obstructing the Electoral College vote and tampering with evidence.

The verdict marks the third time that prosecutors have secured convictions for seditious conspiracy in the Justice Department’s historic prosecution of those who breached the Capitol that day.

The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the seditious conspiracy charge against Pezzola, as well as several other counts against all five defendants. The judge instructed them to continue deliberations.

The verdict concludes the last of three Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy trials, the most high-profile cases stemming from the largest prosecution in U.S. history. In November and January, six members of the extremist Oath Keepers movement were convicted of the historically rare and politically weighty crime of seditious conspiracy in the assault, including Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.

I is now undeniably established by fact, court, and jury that a"seditious conspiracy" did occur on and before January 6th 2021.
The objective reality is that multiple, overlapping and individual seditious behavior occurred because subjectively they all bought into the delusions of their trumpian illusions.
What to speak of private talks, the conspiracy was publicly and openly promoted in and by social media and White House pronouncements.

that a bottom-up prosecution is not a winner?

As you rightly mentioned, seditious conspiracy is now established in fact and law. No need to struggle with that anymore. What remains is to tie Trump's higher echelon to this already proven conspiracy.

Biggs, Pezzola, etc., their names will be scarlet badges for a generation or two, but I think the defendants are to Trump what Maj. John Andre and Peggy Shippen were to Benedict Arnold; that is, often-forgotten footnotes to a much greater narrative of betrayal linked to one villain.

Partial (legal) definition of Sedition (alone) is... "Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organizing, that tends toward rebellion against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent toward, or insurrection against, established authority."
(Wiki)

Sedition is a damned ugly word, and it both owns, and defines Trump.
