Joey Tapioca has been described by observers as a bull in a china shop. It seems to me a woman lawyer might have been better for him instead of this thug sounding guy looming over the plaintiff. His accusations, likely smart for il Dunce, were in a way that served to demean.
Would a woman have been a better choice?

(14,628 posts)But I'm sure TFG insisted on a bullying, macho, mobster kind of lawyer. TFG doesn't do nuance.

(115,921 posts)I doubt a woman lawyer would have taken the job in the first place; or having done so, that she would have stuck with it, because TFG would have refused to listen to her and would have tried to bully her into doing everything he wanted no matter how stupid it was. Tacopina seems to be comfortable being a bully himself, and he susrely knows Carroll has a strong case, so he's just playing for his boss by doing exactly the wrong things when cross-examining a sexual assault victim. It doesn't matter because all TFG wants is for Carroll to be degraded and intimidated, and even if she wins he won't care because he'll blame the judge, the jury, the system, probably Tacopina, and he'll appeal forever and finally pay out years from now in accordance with a confidential settlement agreement. Losing the case is no skin off his butt as long as he can make someone else look bad.

(102,447 posts)was exactly what Trump, undoubtedly, demanded. That it would likely backfire was pretty obvious to most who have any understanding of this kind of litigation. Hell, even those who watched an episode or two of Law & Order SUV would know this would be a horrible approach in a criminal trial, so why anyone would think it would work in a civil litigation escapes me, except that this is the MO for Trump.
