Atlanta is pretty nice, Dallas is OK, and parts of Virginia (slowly turning back blue finally) are gorgeous. Even the big cities, like Atlanta and Dallas, can be somewhat laid back. I think someone from Honolulu would have an easier time adjusting than someone from Manhattan.

I live in North Carolina in a big blue bubble. While the state itself is experiencing a Republican coup, I believe that could happen anywhere, including California. Definitely Arizona.

Look to the rest of the country and protect our democracy. Stop trying to blame this on certain states. That's way too easy.

PS. My family is from Michigan and Ohio. Ohio used to be a purple state. What happened there? And how did Michigan turn things around? Important lessons there.

Oh, and since you are making a call for us to "come home", what is your relocation plan? Travel stipends? Are there jobs lined up for a variety of professions? What other pluses are there besides the weather?
