Hakeem Jeffries was ON FIRE last night.

Last edited Sun May 7, 2023, 11:23 AM - Edit history (1)

At the Humphrey/Mondale Dinner in Minneapolis last night. He spoke in his fiery Obamaesque eloquence about WHO the Democrats are and WHAT we stand for versus the "Extremist MAGA Republicans ". Jeffries did not mince words as his speech came to a climax when he asked if we were "Fired up and Ready to WIN"!

Jeffries made it clear that the future of this country , its Democracy, lies with all of us.

Amy Klobuchar was also on fire last night as well. I pity the Republican challenger to her next year. For it was made clear she has NO patience or respect for the Republicans she serves on the Judiciary committee with.

I was so stoked for this evening and was NOT disappointed. All the speeches were AMAZING.

Indeed, "...the future of this country, its Democracy, lies with all of us."

Should we lose any ground in 2024, if the Republicans gain any ground in the face of their magical thinking fraud-charade and their mean-spirited blockheadedness, it will become ever more certain the country will become "something else" but not a democracy.

Thanks, electoral college, for making it damn nearly impossible to progress past the "Age of Enlightenment*."

* Also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual and philosophical movement that occurred in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its presumptions were the go-to source of contemporary legitimacy for much of the original US constitution. It's worthwhile to note that most of the power which ran Europe's "empire nations" (and their colonies) in the 17th and 18th centuries was provided by human slavery and contract bondage.

EVERY speaker focused on that. No Republican was spared last night. Especially by Amy Klobuchar. Her disdain for the extremists on the Judiciary Committee was well noted. She tore Ted Cruz a new one.

Hakeem Jeffries invoked the 1787 Constitutional Convention and the response Benjamin Franklin gave to a Mrs. Powell about what was created. "A Republic. If you can keep it."
