There is only one party passing legislation that makes access to weapons easier. If you vote Republican and lose a spouse, a loved one, a best friend, or a child to gun violence, don't come crying to me - you got what you voted for.
If you are scared shitless every time your children go off to school, or your wife goes shopping, or your grandma goes to church because they could be gunned-down in a mass shooting, if you vote Republican, don't come crying tp me - you got what you voted for.
If you piss yourself with fear every time your unhinged, gun-toting neighbour complains that your kids are annoying him, or he doesn't like your 'attitude', if you vote Republican, don't come crying tp me - you got what you voted for.
If you live in a constant state of fear and anxiety because you don't know if the next shot fired will take out your spouse, your sibling, or even your own child, if you vote Republican, don't come crying tp me - you got what you voted for.
I am out of sympathy for those who vote FOR the party that put weapons in the hands of the lunatics that murdered their loved ones. I am out of tears for those who bury their own children as a direct result of their own votes.
So don't come crying to me - now or ever. There is only one party ensuring that death by gun violence is somehow acceptable.
If you vote Republican, you might want to consider - as the next casket is lowered into the grave - that you are as complicit in that death as those you voted for.

(255,679 posts)They got what they voted for, that's why it's imperative that we GOTV - though there are areas of this country that continue to vote against their best interests. And I'm not pointing fingers at those here who live in so-called "red" states. I may be in New York, but my Rep. is the embarrassing Stefanik.

Because they are.

(13,487 posts)Where in their Bible does it say Thou shalt worship guns to enable the murder of innocents. They seem not to care how many people die, even children, because they dream of an armed insurrection to establish the US as a theocracy based on their beliefs, which are that white men rule and all others have only the rights granted to them by white men. No need for a constitution when you have a perverted version of the Bible as law. Jesus clearly separated government from religion (render unto Caesar what is Caesars), but the religious right is caught up in their success at making women second class citizens and theyll keep pushing for more.

(8,361 posts)I'm not exaggerating to add drama, we have more death and drama than a tv series series would dare to write in. Who would believe such a place? 400 million guns in one country? Why?
The gun industry and their lobby money seems to have won for now.
