Just noticed a Russian SU-57 flying slow and low near Prague. Probably there for some type of air show.

(80,408 posts)-The Su-57 is $35 million stealth fighter and doesn't grow on trees.
Especially in cash strapped Russia right now.
-Avoiding reputational damage when the public sees that a shot down
Su-57 isn't not all that it is cracked up to be. It would expose the stealth
as really not being particularly effective.
-Wreckage from a crash giving away secret technology.

(9,445 posts)He is not at all confident that the SU-57 would come out looking good. The Russian AF has not exactly covered itself in glory.

(80,408 posts)ETA The US Thunderbirds and Blue Angels only need a day or two on site to practice.
Of course this is a Russian pilot, maybe he needs a lot of time to figure out how to fly
the plane.
