Joe Tacopina: "Donald Trump is not convicted of rape", just convicted of pussy grabbing.

Of course the second part of the sentence was my addition but it is the only logical conclusion that he could have put forth had he been asked "what was he convicted of?".

2. He wasn't convicted of anything. For the zillionth time, this was a civil trial.

Nobody gets convicted of anything in a civil trial. He was found liable for sexual assault, not rape, only because Carroll couldn't tell whether TFG used his tiny fingers or his tiny dick. Nothing to brag about.

3. I am aware of that but I heard Tacopina say "not convicted of rape". I could have misheard him.

OK not guilty of A but guilty of B.

What is really really remarkable is how JT and DT have resuscitated the Access Hollywood tape and given it a second life. Not only are they replaying it multiple times but they have his deposition confirming it and a jury saying "BINGO".

All in all its a rather remarkable achievement.

6. Look, we get that, counselor. He was not convicted in the legal use of the word.

But we know he stands convicted of a crime in the eyes of many of the people. Hopefully we will get to use the word properly in the future.

It isn't surprising he wasn't convicted of that.

"What was he convicted of?"

NOTHING. It was not a criminal trial.

You find for the plaintiff and against the defendant (or the other way around) in a civil case. There is no guilt; there is no conviction. Taco-pnus is really stupid if he said that.

13. sexual abuse v. rape is largely semantics,

since the definition of the crimes vary from state to state. What is rape in Ohio (the acts trump was found to have committeed) is not rape in NY.

But guilty v. liable is not semantics.

Guilty means (1) the state is the victim (Carroll would have been a witness, not thevictim) and (2) they can throw you in jail, put you on the sex offender registry, take away your right to vote.

Liable means you have to make the person you injured whole. (I.e. throw money at her.)

I don’t want to be around a sexual predator or a rapist. Neither sounds very good to me. Nope.
