I for one welcome her back, and appreciate all that she has done for everyone over the years. I am glad that she didn't step down. Welcome back Senator, we love you!

(5,104 posts)Those who unfairly carp at her for taking the moment she needed to recuperate from shingles, would go well to look at her sterling record of progressive accomplishments.
I'm proud of our Senator.
Welcome back!!!

(5,104 posts)I was living across the bay in Berkeley as a college student at the time.
The whole areas was already in a state of shock due to the recent mass-suicides/murders in Jonestown, where most People's Temple members were from the Bay Area.
The murders of Milk and Moscone were a profound blow locally. Feinstein stepped up to offer courageous leadership. My admiration for her has never waivered.

I'm glad she's back too and hope she remains to accomplish what she presumably has stayed in for.
Go, Senator Feinstein.

(277 posts)I agree with those who were "there." So was I. If you lived through it, you will never forget the deaths of Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone - and Diane Feinstein's strength through it all. She was/is the very definition of courage and patriotism.
I would never in a million years say I always agree with her 100% BUT - and this is the important part - she was THERE! She stepped up in the most traumatic of times. She showed bravery, and she showed humanity. To those who've been wanting to whisk her off to the old age home, I say SHAME.
God bless you, Senator Feinstein. And thank you for your coorage, and your years of service to this country. Welcome back!
