told a very similar joke about Hitler and Goering. They hit and killed a dog while driving. Goering went to the farmhouse to tell the farmer, coming back an hour later with beer, wine and a big pile of food. Hitler asked for an explanation. Goering replied all I said was "Heil Hitler, the dog is dead".
