"Gov. DeSantis signed SB 1580, a License to Discriminate in Healthcare bill that will allow healthcare providers and insurers to deny a patient care on the basis of religious, moral, or ethical beliefs. It creates a license to discriminate by allowing healthcare employers to discriminate in hiring, and it bars medical Boards from disciplining doctors for spreading misinformation."
He also signed SB 238, which he said will "provide an exemption from public records requirements for certain information relating to complaints or investigations regarding violations of provisions protecting from discrimination based on health care choices."
I'm still slogging through it:

(6,621 posts)Most medical people will treat those in need because that's the way they're wired. But, it's nice to know that they would have an option of bowing out of the case.
I can't understand why Florida thinks this guy is what they want in a leader. He's busy destroying their state, running off Disney, and setting up his own private kingdom in which they are on the losing side. It isn't worth it. What's wrong with them?

(50,629 posts)1. Place pulse probe on patient's finger.
2. Speak these words: "Donald Trump was the greatest president who ever lived and Ron DeSantis is the perfect governor."
3. If pulse does not immediately increase by 50 bpm, refuse to treat patient on grounds that you don't do business with Republicans.
