Zelensky, in private, plots bold attacks inside Russia, leak shows

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has won the trust of Western governments by refusing to use the weapons they provide for attacks inside Russia and prioritizing the targeting of Russian forces inside Ukraine’s borders.

But behind closed doors, Ukraine’s leader has proposed going in a more audacious direction — occupying Russian villages to gain leverage over Moscow, bombing a pipeline that transfers Russian oil to Hungary, a NATO member, and privately pining for long-range missiles to hit targets inside Russia’s borders, according to classified U.S. intelligence documents detailing his internal communications with top aides and military leaders.

The documents, which have not been previously disclosed, are part of a broader leak of U.S. secrets circulated on the Discord messaging platform and obtained by The Washington Post. They reveal a leader with aggressive instincts that sharply contrast with his public-facing image as the calm and stoic statesman weathering Russia’s brutal onslaught. The insights were gleaned through intercepted digital communications, providing a rare look at Zelensky’s deliberations amid Russian missile barrages, infrastructure attacks and war crimes.

The Pentagon, where senior U.S. military leaders were briefed on the matters outlined in the leaked documents, did not dispute the authenticity of the materials.

many things are on the table. The fact that he hasen't done it yet is what's important.

Jesus freaked Christ why does one said have to be squeaky clean and a damn Boy Scout while the other side literally and cruelly destroys their lives?

5. Absolutely. Zelensky is fighting for the survival of his country and people.

Civilian women and children are being raped, tortured and murdered.

And we want to tie Zelensky's hands behind his back and force him
to act like this is just a kid's baseball game.

The US has blood on its hands. We are making Zelensky drag this out
while he suffers huge casualties. We won't let him win the damn war.

movement and the more Ukraine puts the hurt on Russia
the harder it will be for Putin to keep power. Russians in Crimea are already fleeing across the bridge back into Russia.

The Russian People and the Russian Military will put an end to Putin's crime spree and his theft of trillions of dollars from the people of Russia.

Marjorie Taylor, Greene, all of the goons have blood on their hands. Of course Russia is going to keep fighting. They think they can take us again in 2024.

Not related to the OP I realize but it’s what I’m thinking about.

It all goes back to Trump. He offered Putin Ukraine and this is the result.

Trump got impeached for what he did to Ukraine. Any other president and this war would have never started.

Ukraine and Zelensky want to, and have, bombed military targets in Russia. USA is against it.

I haven't previously heard about wanting to take over a Russian town but not shocking to me after what Russian bombs have done to Ukraine cities.

While I truly believe the Russian people, themselves, deserve whatever comes their way (because this monster was and is THEIR choice for their leader) I wouldn't want them riled up and fully mobilized. In the grand scheme of things Russia is a much larger country than Ukraine with a much larger warmaking potential.

Putin should understand what's at stake. Of course, if I was playing devil's advocate, I'd say should we play these games with a crazy man who has nukes. I'm sure this has been well calculated.
