New College alternative commencement
The gofundme campaign for the students commencement this Thursday has been a great success. Check it out; the messages from the student leaders and the donors will inspire and cheer you. (And don’t we all need a little of that?)
Many of the donor comments begin “Bill Penzey sent me.” Hurrah for Bill Penzey, a hero for our times!
Money above the amount needed for the celebration will be handed to a student organization that will continue to support student activities next year at the school, in an effort to keep New College alive as an institution that celebrates diversity and inclusion in defiance of the fascist bullies attempting to quash its liberal soul.
These students are such brave and creative people. They are fighting for all of us.

I really hate to see what is happening to it now, but it has a long history of challenges met and overcome.
